Casual Outfit Roundup: Week of Feburary 14

Neon yellow cardi, thrifted
Tunic, Mac & Jac
Black leggings, Target
Thigh-high boots, Pleaser via Amazon
Chain necklace, self-made
Hoops, Patina

I figured the thigh-high boots would be less attention-grabbing over a pair of black leggings. Not so! Many a curious look was garnered.

Two cats for the price of one! How much do you love those question-mark tails?

Striped boatneck, thrifted
Black jersey skirt, Express
Studded belt, thrifted at ARC’s Value Village
Black boots, Frye Engineer 8R
Rhinestone bracelet, J.Crew

I stole this look from a streetstyle site somewheres … though I’ll be damned if I can remember which one. My take is a little less slouchy and more fitted, and features a skinny stud belt instead of a wide one.

Oh, and THIS is the original floor-length jersey skirt. As comfy as sweatpants but sixteen times as chic. I will cry bitter tears when it wears out.

This bracelet is a hoot, isn’t it? I don’t generally buy jewelry from J.Crew since it’s almost all goldtone, but I’d been eyeing this one for ages and nabbed it when it went on sale. It might even be cheaper now, as the clearance prices continue to dip!

I love how everyone is starting to insert fun spring colors into their wardrobes now that we're all sick of winter. I love the thigh-high boot ensemble. Tres sexy!

  2. La Historiadora de Moda

Those thigh high boots of yours are so amazing and I covet them every time I see them. I love the tunic and the yellow cardi, too. F#@! February! It's time for spring.

Oh the question mark tails are the best! They're super cute kitties.

I love the striped tee with the long skirt – such a fantastic silhouette. The belt and bracelet add great shimmery touches.

Gorgeous outfits…as always! But, I especially love the bright splash of color! It makes me hopeful that Spring is on its way to the Twin Cities!

Also, I really enjoy seeing your beautiful kitties!!

Love the bateau neck, studs and rhinestones. Those "Breton" shirts are so chic, but can be tough to pull off. You do it beautifully!

If you don't mind me asking, how tall are you? While I love the look of thigh high boots, I'm only 5'3" and I'm afraid thigh high would be crotch high on me, haha!

Love your interpretation of the striped boatneck with long jersey skirt look. I usually avoid longer skirts but you make it look really current and chic!

  8. Anonymous

That yellow cardi outfit is your best yet! The proportions are perfect for you, nothing too long or too boxy.

  9. Sal

Laniza: Not at all! I'm 5'6". I've seen over-the-knee boots that are way shorter than these and might suit a woman of your height.

  10. Jessica

Sal you look OMG amazing in the thigh high boot outfit. The lemon yellow is fabulous on you!

    Hi Sal,
I have a surprise for you on my blog. Please come to visit–and please do share!
    Good wishes,

I have no long jersey skirts, but I'm definitely a fan. Bold move – the red and orange combination. I like it!

ah, the floor length jersey skirt, a true love of mine year-round. Mine is also kind of a wrap skirt with lots of extra fabric for swingyness – and also makes a great makeshift sleeping bag/blanket when you fall asleep on the couch at your friend's house.

I love the painting you're standing beside in the first photo. Great outfit, too.

  15. Diana

Love them all! I didn't even notice the thigh high boots at first. I love the happy spring colors in that outfit.

That J Crew bracelet is gorgeous.

  16. Rachael

Gorgeous looks! I have yet to master the art of wearing a long dark skirt without looking like a goth.

  17. All Women Stalker

$4? That is awesome! I am jealous that you have cats. I can't have pets in my apartment building.

  18. Sheila

You are the mistress of the floor-length skirt, Sal! You look great in those. I deeply admire your strong shoulders – my shoulders are narrower, so I can't carry off that look as well.

    I love your kitties! đŸ™‚

That floral tunic has the perfect pattern and colors to bring together the zingy yellow cardi and the wintery black boots and leggings. Well done!

  20. Elissa

You are putting together some really wonderful outfits lately! You look so elegant in long skirts!

  21. Kasmira

My crazy neighbor claims that your cat has a question when his tail is in the shape of a question mark. Who knew cats are literate!
