Casual Outfit Roundup: Week of May 29

Chambray dress, Gap (no longer available) – similar
Belt, thrifted – similar
Perforated boots – BC Footwear In The Mood
Faux coral necklace, self-made – similar

I generally try to mix my Western influences with more urban ones, but this outfit just worked as full cowgirl.

Also it’s a little funny to me that two weeks ago the roundup featured a tunic/jeggings/flats on Friday, and perforated boots/denim on Saturday. Clearly, I’m a creature of habit.

What? No, of course I didn’t buy another Prairie Underground Long Cloak Hoodie. This one just … grew … in my closet. The others must’ve mated. Yeah, that’s it.

We drove up to Duluth on Sunday to see my sister-in-law’s new house, drink some fabulous chocolate-peanut butter malts*, and snoop around the art galleries. We also hit Chester Park, which is where these photos were taken. Yeah, that’s a waterfall behind me. I’m totally brave.

*Which, amazingly, didn’t make me sick. But I’m not pushing my luck …

Sally, I love all these outfits! You have the best boots collection ever! You look awesome with your hair pulled back, too. πŸ™‚

Oh, and I totally understand the hoodie growing in your closet – it’s a great hoodie. These things happen.

  2. Chalkdust and Boots

I can understand your lust over those oxfords. I’ve been looking for the perfect pair for some time now and still haven’t had luck. Oh, well. πŸ™‚

I want one of those hoodies so badly! Somehow I just can’t justify it, with summer approaching.

    Or, can I?

I mean, there are cool Minnesota nights sometimes, right?

I totally understand the hoodie love. I think if I owned one, you’d never see me out of it. Really love those frye boots you’re wearing too, such a rich color.

I luurve your outfits – and I luurve the idea of the cloak hoodies mating in your closet. I have two favourite dresses in my closet – do you think if I put the hangers closer to each other and encourage those dresses a wee bit (maybe some smoochy songs or some perfume?) , they might mate, too? LOL – Lola

I love your Prairie Underground hoodies. I think I gasp every time I see one in a post. If only they were half the price…but in the meantime I’m happy to look at all yours. So keep wearing them a lot! πŸ™‚

Those Prairie Underground hoodies surely must have magical powers. And I LOVE those oxfords on you — perhaps you’ll get brave enough to try a menswear-inspired look, perhaps with a necktie and everything??

  8. Patti @ NotDeadYet Style

Great outfits, Sal. The footwear is awesome as always. Need more info on a chocolate peanut butter malt — it doesn’t have Scotch in it, does it??????

  9. Gracey at Fashion for Giants

That pintucked tunic in the first outfit is brilliant on you – it shows of your tiny waist. And I love those lace-less oxfords. Those side-zippers are totally worth it.

Ohhh! This roundup is making me GIDDY- such beautiful gems and wonderful style inspiration. Those laceless oxfords are marvelous, the way you styled the denim is perfection, and that hoodie is the best thing to ever grow in a dark closet.
