Casual Outfit Roundup: Week of September 25

Already Pretty Outfit featuring pleated maxi skirt, moto boots, Infrared Studio necklace, black crew neck sweater
Black crew neck sweater, thrifted – similar
Skirt, vintage via Etsy – similar
Boots, John Fluevog Heidi
Wrap bracelet, Quince – similar
Earrings, gift – similar
Necklaces, Infrared Studio, Karin Jacobson, self-made

Versions of this outfit have been floating through my mind since spring, and I’m just tickled with how it turned out in real life. I’d originally planned to wear only the longest necklace, but the layering seemed to work beautifully and mitigate the high sweater neckline.

Already Pretty Outfit featuring cashmere boyfriend sweater, Karen Kane asymmetric dress, cognac boots, wrap belt, Foley + Corinna Mid-City Tote

Cashmere cardigan, Opitzsimilar
Asymmetric hem dress, courtesy Karen Kane
Belt, Gap (no longer available) – similar style
Boots, Indigo by Clarks Proctor – a few pairs on eBay
Cuff, thifted – similar
Earrings courtesy A.W.E. – giveaway forthcoming!
Bag, Foley + Corinna Mid City Tote via eBay

I had my doubts about doing the asymmetric dress with the blunt-hem cardi, and next time I’ll probably try a waterfall silhouette instead. But I felt so cozy and chic in this ensemble, I must’ve done something right.

Wow, all of those outfits are beautiful – I don’t think I’d consider any of them especially casual though. The first outfit, with the long flowy skirt, is very elegant!

I love your style. And I especially LOVE that your casual outfits are altogether more dressed up than I get on date night. I’m a stay-home mum, and I survive in pants, t-shirts tunics and various comfy shoes. I’m trying to expand my horizons a bit, and you’ve been teaching me that casual doesn’t mean sloppy. My favorite outfit this week was black cotton leggings and a brown tunic/dress layered over a purple cami, and black ballet flats, I started the day with a stripy cotton scarf but it was humid here, so I took it off and looped it on my bag instead.

It’s not quite cool enough here to get boots out yet, but I can hardly wait! I love seeing how you pair all of your different boots with different outfits. This year I have boot envy! Ebay here I come! 🙂

Just lovely, all of them. I love the layered necklaces, and that’s been a dream outfit of mine for a few months too (just got a similar skirt in the mail!). And I love the cardi with the dress–I think the contrasting hemlines are quite flattering and structured. Cozy and comfortable AND stylish–my favorite!

As always, you look so lovely. I especially love the second look – it’s so soft, flattering, and chic.

    Happy October!

The second outfit is SO chic, modern and pulled together. Effortless. So appropriate for fall!

The second outfit – fantastic. Great lines, great black/brown combo. Love it.

I am totally swooning over all of these looks! That first maxi skirt is absolutely stunning!

  9. Anuja

I REALLY like these outfits, especially the first two. Usually, you and I don’t share all that much of our style, but I totally want to steal them out of your closet. 🙂

I love those first two looks! They make you look long and lean, chic and cool. I’ve always aspired to create looks like that for myself, but haven’t managed to pull it off yet… probably because they fight my petite and curvy figure! 😀

  11. Clare

I love that cream-colored maxi skirt! And that outfit with the Indigo by Clarks boots is phenomenal, head to toe! 🙂

I think the multi-necklace layering is perfect for that first outfit, since the rest of it is very sleek and minimal as it is. And I love those black boots paired with the dress and cardi in the last outfit! A touch of rough is always fun, and I think the cardi doesn’t take away from the dress at all, it looks great on you.

Oooooh, child! That second look went straight to me inspiration file. I think I have everything to recreate this! (can you tell I’m watching ANTM as I write this?)
