We’ve really only had a couple of hot days so far this summer, and I’m THRILLED. I’d much rather be cool than warm, and much rather be covered-up than exposed. Slightly sheer blouses like this one are perfect, since they offer the coverage I want but look lightweight and seasonal.
Scarves can be tricky in summer, but I love them so much I always try to wedge a few into my warm weather outfits. When it’s cool, I prefer that my scarves cover my entire neckline, but for this breezy outfit I eased up on that guideline.

This thrifted skirt has been a summer favorite for years. I just love the unexpectedly light, bright colors in that tartan and the swishy silk construction. I wore it twice in recent weeks, keeping the same jewelry in both outfits and swapping tops, bags, and shoes. This first was worn on a recent muggy day of meetings and writing at home. And that top is navy, I SWEAR, just like the navy in the skirt.
