Daily Outfit: 1/3/11

Already Pretty Daily Outfit 1/3/11 featuring Tsubo AcreaTan wool blazer, thrifted – similar items
Olive dress, Athleta Flirtatious Dress
Brown sweater tights, Anthropologie (no longer available) – similar
Necklace, Dana LeBlanc
Red pumps, Tsubo Acrea (no longer available in this color)

Talk about the shoes making the outfit … these dusty red Tsubo Acreas were my first pair, and they are pretty beaten up but I just can’t quit ’em. They have tied together more outfits than I can count, including this one, which otherwise would’ve been a subdued wash of neutrals.

I did some major thrifting in Chicago with my mom, the thrift maven, but to avoid bag check costs I UPSed the loot to myself. It arrived today and I can’t wait to wear some of these goodies!

The shoes really do make the outfit – like the cherry… on the bottom! đŸ™‚

Can’t wait to see your thrifting scores!

I agree that your red shoes really add a great pop of color. I love that it’s cheaper to mail your clothes home than to check them on the plane! Can’t wait to see what treasures you bought!

Hmmm, that jacket makes me think of one that I should haul out of my closet for the first time in five years.

Where did you thrift in Chicago? I live here and i’ve really never found a good go-to place.

Actually, my ‘rents live in Evanston, so that’s where Mom and I go. Crowded Closet, Classy Closet, and secondarily ORT and Junior League on Chicago Ave. Those last two are stuck in the 80s, but there are a few good finds! Crowded Closet and Classy Closet are both totally overpriced – they’re consignment as well as donations – but they have really good sales. That’s when we go.

Sorry I don’t have more Chicago thrift tips. Clare from Between Laundry Days is an expert thrifter and lives downtown – you could hit her up for recommendations!
