Daily Outfit: 2/18/10

Purple jersey knit “Bob” dress, courtesy Reality in Style (read my review here)
Dusty purple tights, Banana Republic
Purple peeptoes, Opitz Outlet
Mesh necklace, firstfan

I know, I know, you’ve seen this dress quite recently, but I didn’t have a chance to wear it to the office yet and just wanted something that I KNEW would work. Sadly, these tights were giving me a serious case of Segmented Worm Syndrome all day long and I am considering setting them on fire. After reading Allie’s comment about her Tight End Tights today, I’m tempted to pony up for a pair. Any other fans?

Also, I am wearing purple from head to toe (minus the necklace), and I don’t look like Grimace at all! Anyone know why a perpetually cheery character is named for a frowny face?

starsdied: That might be the best compliment I've ever gotten. But man, I'm sorry about your brain! 😉

If I had this dress I would wear it ALL THE TIME too! It is gorgeous and you look gorgeous in it!

That dress is really fantastic for you. I think starsdied is right, it's crazy classy.

Gorgeous dress – love the detail on the front & it looks like it fit perfectly. Ughh for the tights – there is no greater annoyance.

The high waisted tight end tights from Spanx are so amazing. I am lazy so I just throw them in the wash and they are as good as new after a year of washing and wearing. Definitely worth the investment.

I love love love this dress. I want it! LOL

and that's a good question about grimace.

I am actually very curious about those tights as well because I had the same problem with mine today. THey kept rolling down and they were tight around the thighs. annoying!!!

I really do love that dress! It looks stunning on you. feminine but not fussy.

That dress is the most perfect shade of purple. And it looks wonderful against the snow.

Sal, you look so fabulous. That dress fits you perfectly.

I never really thought about how Grimace is actually quite a cheerful character — seriously, what was McDonald's thinking? 🙂

That dress was made for you, Sal. I love the color of the tights that you paired it with!

You wouldn't believe this but I actually spent quite some time studying the character of Grimace and could tell you all about him — be careful what you ask for!

That dress looks like it was made for you.

I love the cut and colour. A nice alternative to the LBD. It looks like one of those dresses that you can pack and it comes out of the suitcase looking fresh.

First of all, that dress + your figure = to die for!

Next, I just did a post that was almost ruined because my husband and I could not figure out how to take pictures with a snowy background. We get so little snow here in Georgia, so we don't know how to drive in it or take pictures in it!

Your pictures look great, so do you have any advice that you can give me? We use a Canon point and shoot. The majority of the pictures that we took were blown out because of the light reflecting off the snow! Thanks!

That dress is fabulous. I think my brain exploded a little, too. Gosh I wish they had a place to try those on around here. I am shaped more like the model on their website and I think it was a lot more flattering on you than her.

I read the other post regarding their clothing and I think it's really admirable that they are making a durable product. I get pretty annoyed with disposable clothes that fall apart after being gently laundered once.

If you buy the Tight End Spanx (the highwaisted ones) at your right size, they are as amazing as advertised, and they last forever.

If you buy them too small, you will want to kill people by the end of the day. So choose wisely! 🙂

Great color and great style on you. Wow!

I also took a minute and watched your video you referred to in the previous post (age-appropriate dressing). It was SO well done, Sal. You have such poise and a non-threatening way of communicating helpful information. Thanks!

  17. LegacyOfPearl

This dress looks great on you. Head to toe purple is a really hard color and very well done here!

I've scored many, many Spanx items on ebay and have never paid over $20 for a single one. They're worth it!

Hi Sal! This dress looks so amazing on you. I'm so happy that you reviewed Reality in Style because now I know about them and can't wait to be able to buy this dress! It is gorgeous and knowing the lovely ladies behind the label makes me appreciate the care with which they have put it all together. So thanks!

Of all the things that you look stunning in (and there are a LOT of them!), this might be the best. It's truly breathtaking.
