Today I had lunch with the fabulous Allison Kaplan, so obviously I needed to step up my game! I wore a variation of this outfit when I taught a workshop at the IFB conference in New York, and since I knew it was a winner then I figured it’d be a winner again with some slight tweaks.

I think adding the bracelet pile and swapping the knit shirt for the button down gives it a bit more edge.

I love this; it looks very snappy! And the color-blocking falls in line with your previous post about trends.

Lately I’ve been into the bracelet pile look, and it definitely works perfectly with this outfit. The skirt is pretty awesome with the pockets and great color. Very nice!!

OMG, that is just so perfect I would never have thought to put those two colors together, but I absolutely love it! I want to copy it right away. And it fits so perfectly on your body too. What a winner!

You always manage to wear colors in a way that makes me go “what in the…wait I love that!” It also makes me less afraid to buy bright tops instead of just doing my black and white t’s with a skirt.

Oh, and I have gone from loathing button ups to seeing how you wear them and wondering if I should go thrift a few myself!

Wow, I am loveloveloveing your take on the color blocking trend! This is such a nice way to incorporate a trend into your personal style without having to buy very ‘trendy’ pieces. Love your blog, Sally. You inspire me to keep my pink sweatpants and uggs in the back of my closet!
