Dressed for: Birds and Blazers

Already Pretty outfit featuring yellow blazer, bird print dress, Corso Como Del, Michael Kors Hamilton tote

Blazer – thrifted – similar
Dress – Beebop & Wally – more bird print dresses here and here
Pumps – Del courtesy Corso Como
Bag – Michael Kors Hamilton via eBay
Earrings – Lava 9 in SF – similar look

I’ve worn this blazer and dress together before, but am almost certain the combo never made it onto the blog. It brings me so much joy when an item I’ve had for ages (long-ago thrifted blazer) turns out to be a perfect color match for a newer item (year-old dress). I feel like my clothes have found their life partners when this happens. Because I’m a goof like that.

Anyone else had the experience of finding items in your closet that unexpectedly match? Or are you more mindful about which colors come in and out of your wardrobe?

I was just thinking about this last night! I am losing weight, so I am trying to get some wear out of some of my things that won’t easily be taken in while they still fit. I realized that I could endlessly come up with cute combinations I never thought of in the past if I just shopped my closet more! My biggest challenge is purging and organizing to the point where I can actually see everything at once to make these connections. That will be one bonus of losing weight- I can get rid of stuff easier when it is too big, and finally cull that giant wardrobe!

Yes! I bought a pair of teal peep-toe flats last year, and every time I find something in my closet that matches, I am once again thrilled that I have them.

I think my colours are usually quite matched or coordinated just because I gravitate towards the same ones. Although my closet contents are growing, I still have a very clear mental concept of what is in there, so I can shop knowing what I’ve got at home and what options I have for pairing things.
Your outfit is very cute and that yellow is delightfully sunny.

Gotta say, yellow and grey is one of my all-time favorite color combos.

I once thrifted a zebra fun fur print bag and then a couple of years later was in a different city’s thrift store and found the shoes that were mated with the bag. AND i was carrying the bag at the time AND the shoes fit me (I have larger feet)!! It was a shoe bag fate happy day in my world. It took me 10 years to part with them because i’m not SO much an animal print person but I just loved that they found each other.
