Would love to see you! Drop me a note at sally@alreadypretty.com and I’ll reserve a spot for you on the schedule.
Lace top – thrifted – similar
Leather skirt – thrifted – similar – budget (navy)
Pumps – Del courtesy Corso Como
Clutch – Nine West (no longer available) – similar
Necklaces – Etsy and Lily + Violet – similar look
Earrings – courtesy Metalicious
My default looks are fairly dressy, but I still enjoy the chance to get TRULY dressed up. Wore this to a night out at a fun event, and loved being able to do that classic-yet-edgy combo of leather and lace. Especially since both pieces were thrifted!
Do you take every chance to get gussied? Or are you happiest in your casual duds?

very nice! I love this all-black look on you, Sally.
You look stunning. You know, I’d be so curious to see what style suggestions you’d give me.
I feel as though, with every outfit (for everyday or for a special occasion) I am always walking a line between casual and dressy. On my most casual days, I still pay attention to proportion and color contrast; for special events, I always try to be sure I can move easily and without much stiffness, and usually that means throwing a crushable cardigan into the mix.
Also — these pieces look great on you; I love that mix of textures! And the seaming on that skirt is so nicely done …
Très chic!
So pretty!
I want that leather skirt. How come I can’t find anything like that when I go thrifting?!
I’m with Mary – I pretty much always try to look put together (and I LOVE to go fancier for the slightest special occasion), but I rarely wear anything in which I don’t feel comfortable and at ease. Of course, I can feel at ease in a black ’50s-style cocktail dress with a low heel. So maybe I’m an outlier there; I don’t know.
Thrifted leather and lace – the best kind. Looks great!
Gowns are a staple in my closet. I like surfing eras of style.
LOVE THIS. The skirt and top are perfection together.
You look lovely. Isn’t it interesting how, however much we might love colour, nothing says ‘I’m out for the night’ like head to toe black in fancy finishes? It would be really hard to look that party-ish in colours, unless you decided to expose a lot more flesh.
True! I try to do color for fancy events, but almost always end up in black.
hola Sally
really great combination, will never occur to me to combine those textures, really looks wonderfull on you, a big hug from Reñaca, Chile
Ooh la la! You always look lovely, Sally, but here you look — dare I say? — alluring!
Love the outfit, the fit on both top and bottom look perfect. I would love to see the skirt this fall or winter with boots and tights…and maybe a moto jacket?? Of course you know that leather and lace are totally IN this fall, so you are oh so in style!
Gah, Sal!!! You look amazing! this is so simple, but so elegant and hot. I don’t know why i can never pull that off. I will totally be shopping my closet this weekend to see if I am just not pairing the right pieces, because I am coveting this look so hard. I am going to die now. Ok, i am dead.
Looking razor-sharp. My compliments.

It never ceases to amaze me how good a body can look when you learn to dress it to maximise potential. What’s that old song? “You gotta accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative, latch on to the affirmative, don’t go with Mr Inbetween” You done it Baby

This is one of my favorite outfits! I love how it is actually so simple and can be easily replicated by all of us. THANK YOU, Sally for such great ideas. Sara
