It’s that time of year when we have cool, crisp days mixed in with warm, balmy ones. But my brain is in seasonal transition even if the weather can’t seem to make up its mind. In addition to being excited about switching to cozier clothes (eventually), easing into fall has reinvigorated my love of bold color combinations. Odd since fall colors are often dark and/or neutral, but I think I just needed a mental shift to rekindle my interest.

What are you excited to wear as the season changes?

I’m ready for all my cardigans and scarves, but this fickle MN weather won’t let me wear what I want to!

You are wearing one of my favorite color combinations, in fact todayIi am wearing turquoise shorts, a pea green tee shirt and a painted bead necklace that does have a bit of red in it. It was forecast to be 100 the next three days so I am just looking for the weather to come somewhere near seasonal. I don’t think I’ll have to wear a sweater until Thanksgiving. Enjoy those crisp fall days for me.

I’ve got some positively gorgeous sweeping wide-legged pants that I’m dying to wear. They’re a heavy tweed and fully lined, and I love the swish swish swish of that heavy cloth when I walk. Plus, the brown-ish tweed is actually flecked throughout with TONS of colour. Love!

Very lovely! What’s your opinion of the quality of J. Crew Factory, by the way? Mail order diva here would like to know!

I always say that there are only three good things about cold weather:
    1. No bugs outside!
    2. You can keep leftovers cold in your car without having to worry about getting them refrigerated right away.
    3. BOOTS!!!!!!!

I love boots! I know that there are ways to make them work during the summer, but that’s a “sometimes” thing, whereas I get giddy thinking about how the onset of fall means that I can wear tall boots nearly every day.

I also really like big, fluffy wool scarves.

boots and tights and scarves. I dread the cold, dark months but do always get sartorially re-invigorated with a season shift.

Excited to wear my new clothes: wine colored cords, animal print cords, some new sweaters, boots and a velvet blazer!
