I think of peacock as a spring and summer motif, but since the colors in this print are both dark and bright, I decided to layer it up for winter wear. Couldn’t resist drawing out the reds and teals in addition to the browns and blacks.

Whoa, that dress is amazing! Love the mix of colors.
Really flattering dress and gorgeous colours. I love that it’s above the knee in the front but provides more coverage in the back. You could also really dress that up for evening. But I’m surprised at the cardigan, given your recent post that you don’t like cold arms. Are the sleeves just pushed up temporarily for the photo or are they three-quarter length?
I am loving this dark print, esp the peacock feathers! What a stand-out dress, Sal.
that’s a lovely winter outfit!
You do not cease to amaze – I would have run from any dress with that hem, but here it works beautifully! Yay, color!
The new pin-it feature on your blog is really, really annoying. As I’m scrolling down to look at photos everything greys out and asks me if I want to pin it. I know how to pin things. That’s what the pin it button I have installed on my browser is for. PLEASE PLEASE take this feature off.
Try having your cursor not hover in the center of your screen. Problem solved.
That dress is so wonderful!
Love the hemline, but why would I want to look at the seams, hemming, and backside of the fabric? Dressmakers: Please figure out a way to line the inside of the hem, or double-side it or give me something than an inside-out hemline to view!
Good point — I had not noticed the hem and seams until you mentioned it but I think seeing one of these style dresses “in person” it would bother me. Very trendy style anyway, not on my wish list!
Love the print though.
Sally, exactly what do you mean when you say the dress is “courtesy of…”. I would guess it means the company gave you the item free, is that what you mean?
I’ve been obsessed with peacocks just bc peacock blue is my fave color. But that dress! That pattern is fantastic!
Gorgeous outfit, but can you clarify something for me? Why are bright colours and floral (or peacock) -type prints considered more appropriate for summer? When everything is grey and drab and wintery outside, isn’t that when we most need colour and pattern?
Absolutely beautiful dress! I just went in search of it on their website but can’t find it anywhere. 🙁 Really great look though.
I love your dress!
Love the dress – it’s interesting to see peacock print in something other than the colors blue and green.
Wow – that is a fabulous dress!
