Does anyone remember “Weird Fridays”? When I worked in an office environment, I used to use Casual Fridays as my excuse to trot out some of my weirder, funkier pieces. Everyone else was in jeans and sweats and sneaks, I was in tie-waist leather half-vests and drop-crotch pants and enormous statement necklaces. My coworkers loved it, and so did I.

As we move toward fall, I’ve been doing my seasonal closet purge and have unearthed some of those same funky items, many of which have been languishing unworn. Odd that, as a self-employed, work-from-home person, I’ve actually become a little more conservative in my dressing preferences.

I made a point of building outfits around my beloved oddballs, so you can expect to see those in the coming weeks! For starters, this super comfy handkerchief-hem tie-dye maxi and the aforementioned tie-waist leather half-vest. Not purchased together, but clearly made to be paired.

I love that leather piece! It’s so very unique. Happy to see some of your odder pieces coming back out of the closet. Those are my favorites.

I’ve been lurking here for about a month, but this outfit makes me say DAY-UMN! Smoking hot. You look awesome.

Love it! I wonder if your yellow and black shoes you had on the other day would go with it (I’ve just been coveting those shoes)?

This is one great outfit, you are doing the Twin Cities proud. Love the vest and dress. They were made for each other!

I have to say, about the coolest outfit ever! I would love to see the back of that vest. I am now inspired to do something unusual with my wardrobe just by seeing it. I know you wore it for the blog but where else would you wear it now in the twin cities?

Wow! You look so confident! I never would’ve thought an asymmetric vest could work in an outfit so seamlessly. This is a great example of wearing your clothes – not letting them wear you! Amazing.

I love this dress, You paired it with a leather jacket before and I love that look.I’ve never seen a vest like this, that is so COOL!!

Very unique and cool look! I love edgy and quirky clothes, so when casual Friday comes around at work, I usually do the same thing as you and use it as my day to experiment or have more fun. I’m not sure I could get by with an outfit like this in my more conservative work environment on ANY day, but this Friday, I will be rocking a lip print blouse. 🙂

This might be my favourite of all your outfits so far. You look so beautiful and so freakin’ BAD ASS at the same time!
