Honestly? I couldn’t care less about style or fashion right now. Here’s why:
This is Harriet. She is 11 weeks old. Her mama got hit by a car and she was fostered with two of her sisters until we brought her home Sunday morning. She’s a gray tabby, but looks like she’s got some orange spots worked in there, too.
Harriet has two settings: Turbo and Asleep. This is why most of the shots of her awake are slightly blurry. Little girl is FAST. When she sleeps, she sleeps hard and will stretch out in hilarious directions and wad up into unbearably cute configurations. (You see her snoozing on our bare mattress because Sunday was sheet-washing day.) She is more Asleep than Turbo, but when she’s on, look out. Nothing is safe from her curiosity. See a short video over on FB.
She purrs loudly. About 80% of the time just generally, including while zooming around the house chasing toys. If she is not currently purring, touch her to activate her motor. She purrs while sleeping.
As you can see, Simon is reserving judgment at this point. He mostly tolerates her, although there has been some hissing and growling. She keeps trying to check him out and nuzzle a bit, so we’re hopeful that it’ll just take a few days for them to warm up to each other. He has made some extensive investigations during her Asleep periods, and I believe he thinks she smells pretty good. So fingers crossed.
Now if you’ll excuse me, Turbo Harriet just knocked something over in the dining room …
Harriet is so sweet looking! I hope she and Simon become friends soon. I had a 6 month old female cat and then introduced an 8 week old male. It took about 9 days for them to bond but then they were buddies. It was a horrible 9 days for me due to all the growling and hissing, lol.
Yay, new feline! New cat time is always awesome.
Sweet kitty! I think Simon will come around (we’ve had similars). I love how she zooms. xo
Kittens are so fun. I have a dog named Harriet. Love that name. π
Oh gosh, how cute! Sometimes a new little friend to play with can be really great for an older cat. From the video it looks like Simon is warming up to her. (And how could he not? She’s so adorable.) Enjoy the kitty time!
She looks like my kitty! My cat is only 7 pounds or so but can somehow stretch out to take up my entire queen sized bed. Tabby superpower maybe?
She’s a BINKY! What a nice way to start the day.
So cute! My 12-year-old, 13-pound Maine coon cat still has occasional Turbo moments, which are hilarious. Congratulations on the new family member!
What a little cutie, glad she’s found a home with you! There’s nothing like a kitten to shake things up.
She’s just gorgeous! Sadly I can’t have cats in my apartment, so I live vicariously through other people with kitties! So happy she has a new home!
!!!! Cuteness!!!!
Kitty!
Aww what a little sweetie! I’m sure she’ll be ruling the house and Simon too with all the cuteness soon.
Man. Kittens are the cutest, aren’t they!
Awe, love her!!! So happy for your new addition. Reminds me of when we got our black and white kitty, Henri. Now he has two modes of existence.. Coma and LOUD.
Oh! Beautiful!
Soooo adorable π Yes, at that age they are Turbo/Asleep moded, and shifting from one mode to the other in less than a second. Happy to read that Simon is being nice to her π
What a sweet rescue story! Harriet is lucky to have you. I am so happy you adopted her!
More posts like this, please π
Harriet is precious! I especially love the first action shot.
So cute! We adopted a pair last summer and if 1 is cute 2 are definitely trouble! But they are so sweet and cuddly. Lucky kitty π
CONGRATULATIONS! There is NOTHING better than a new kitteh!
Awww! Congrats! She’s adorable!!!
*squeeeee!!!* She is SO CUTE!! π
What a great addition to your family! She is so adorable! Enjoy
