No, not those warm colors. I’m talking about clothes that are warm and are a color, instead of the usual winter black:

Although, I guess technically the sweater counts as one of those warm colors as well.
On Friday, which is when I wore this, it was freezing here in Pittsburgh and made even colder by the wind. And all I could think to wear was layers of black. Because it seems that all my warmest clothes are black and gray.
But, I didn’t want to wear black and gray. I wanted to wear color. Of course, I also wanted to be warm. So I dug out a bright cashmere sweater and paired it with some non-black pants:

I also added a printed wool scarf:

And it worked; I was warm and colorful. Just the way I like it.
What about you, Reader Friends? Do embrace color during the colder months?
Thanks for reading, All!

Absolutely. I’ve been making myself brightly-colored wool skirts for the winter. So far I have this fuchsia A-line skirt ( http://sewingfaille.blogspot.com/2015/02/v2885-1944-line-skirt.html ) and this teal blue flared skirt ( http://sewingfaille.blogspot.com/2015/11/vogue-7910-wool-tweed-flared-skirt.html ). The winters in Boston are cold, gray, and depressing, but these skirts always cheer me up when I wear them!
What is this scarf tie magic?
Yes! Color in warm clothing! I cannot stand to wear nothing but black
and gray, and even all dark colors can get me down. I drove to three
different Kohl’s yesterday to track down a purple long-sleeve sweater
dress. I wasn’t about to settle for the black, gray, or marled versions!
