We’ve recently enjoyed a few days of very springlike weather here in Southern California, which has put me in the mood for a bit of color and print. I’m glad that Pantone has declared Emerald the color of the year for 2013; it’s a much easier color to wear than last year’s Tangerine.
Even some of the local trees are wearing their spring colors already.
Lately I’ve been more comfortable pairing my silk square scarves with casual looks. When added to more tailored ensembles they look and feel a bit stodgy to me. Still, it’s a shame not to let those lovely prints out to play.
Sweater: J.Crew. Same style in different colors.
Striped top: Saint James, here.
Jeans: NYDJ “Alina” Leggings, here.
Scarf: Vintage Hermès. Similar colors. You can find beautiful scarves in all price ranges. Keep an eye out for good quality scarves in thrift and consignment stores. If the hem is hand rolled and stitched, that’s often a sign of a quality piece. Crunch the fabric in your hand…the good stuff will bounce back without creasing.
Shoes: Stuart Weitzman “Poco,” here. These are a great low-heel option for those who love a classic pump. Available in several colors and many in Wide widths too.
Watch: Michael Kors, here.
Earrings: Ralph Lauren, here.
Bag: Chanel. Similar style and color.
Are you ready for Spring? Do longer days and blooming trees inspire you to wear more color?
