Hints of Spring

emerald green for spring

We’ve recently enjoyed a few days of very springlike weather here in Southern California, which has put me in the mood for a bit of color and print. I’m glad that Pantone has declared Emerald the color of the year for 2013; it’s a much easier color to wear than last year’s Tangerine.

Flowering plum

Even some of the local trees are wearing their spring colors already.

Lately I’ve been more comfortable pairing my silk square scarves with casual looks. When added to more tailored ensembles they look and feel a bit stodgy to me. Still, it’s a shame not to let those lovely prints out to play.

Oh, I do like the silk with the more casual look. I’ll have to try that.

And, as much as I loved Tangerine Tango (I adore orange), I agree that emerald is certainly easier to wear. You look wonderful.

This is such a wonderful casual-with-polish look. This scarf is beautiful on you and I love how it just makes the outfit. In fact, I like this so much that I want to run out and comb the thrift stores for high quality silk scarves. Thanks for bringing in some spring wardrobe enthusiasm!

I love the edgy spiked bracelets with this preppy look. And I too love the emerald!

This is exactly the kind of look I love on a gorgeous lady of a certain age. I find it both inspiring and reassuring. Lovely, hip and elegant – well done!

This is a great look on you – so relaxed and warm, and not black! That scarf has such gorgeous colors that really liven up that outfit. And green is perfect for your coloring!

Love the outfit! I could see myself wearing this, colours, jewellery and all, although with boots, rather than shoes. Unfortunately we have about 2.5 feet of snow, and the temperature was -38 with the wind-chill this morning. So it was the layering on of the sweaters, parkas and mukluks again today. I am SOOO ready for spring!

Very pretty and classic cardi, scarf and nautical shirt.
Its good to see you posting more outfit photos. You always look classic and divine.

It’s single digit temperatures where I am so no, not quite! You look fab in your green cardigan and colourful scarf though – does make me wish the weather would hurry up and warm up.

I’m glad that Pantone has declared Emerald the color of the year for 2013; it’s a much easier color to wear than last year’s Tangerine. So true! Tangerine can look wonderful on many women, but not so much me. Emerald? I’ll always keep that around.

I love that this outfit is really age-less (and season-less); I could absolutely see myself wearing it (and may have to learn how you folded your scarf).
