*In this late-night feature – which will run on Tuesday and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*
Susan requested a few picks for solid, bright cardigans so here we go:
J.Crew Cotton Jackie Cardigan – was $65, now $20.99
with code REFRESH
Doesn’t get much brighter than that saturated yellow, right? We’re nearing the end of the summer sales, so now is a fantastic time to snap up these classic J.Crew cotton cardigans at nearly 60% off. Not a fan of yellow? This style also comes in peach, papaya, pink and several neutrals at this price, plus cobalt, kelly green, orange, red, and more subdued tones for $44.63. Available in sizes XXXS – XXL, size availability varies by color. This similar style comes in six rich colors in sizes 14 – 28.
Uniqlo UV Cut V-neck Cardigan – was $29.90, now $19.90
I vastly prefer v-neck cardigans to crew necked styles, so I was delighted to find this affordable cardigan on sale at Uniqlo. It’s 100% cotton like the J.Crew option above, but Uniqlo says it features UV-protection properties that block 90% of UV rays to minimize the chance of sunburns and skin damage. INTERESTING. Available in this teal as well as yellow, peach, pale blue, cornflower, navy, coral, peach, two shades of gray, white, or black in sizes XS – XXL. Size availability varies by color. This similar style is available in sizes 0X – 3X, and this one in petite and tall sizes. (Other v-neck options not on sale include this elegant open-front from J.Jill and this merino one from Halogen in 12 colors/prints.)
Land’s End Supima Cotton Cardigan – was $49, now $34.30
with code TOPS30, pin 1755
So I hadn’t intended on all cotton tonight, but those are the on-sale styles at the moment. (As mentioned below, Woolovers is a great resource for wool, cashmere, and other warmer fibers.) This supima style does have a crew neck, but it hits a tiny bit lower on the frame than other styles. There seems to be some controversy amongst customers about the matching buttons, but they make for a more cohesive look overall. Available in this red as well as yellow, pumpkin orange, burgundy, pink, cobalt, pale blue, navy, gray, white, or black in sizes XXS – XL, as well as petite, plus, and tall sizes.
Sustainable resources for solid, bright cardigans:
- Fair Indigo – Jewel neck and boyfriend options in rich jewel tones.
- Gudrun Sjödén – Cardigans tend to be a bit boxy, but they’re beautifully made.
- Blue Canoe – More jewel tones in a variety of styles.
Other not-currently-on-sale resources for solid, bright cardigans:
- J.Crew – Sweaters are this retailer’s specialty, and the Jackie style a classic and comes in other fibers in addition to the cotton shown above.
- Talbots – Dozens of cardis in dozens of colors and styles, including open-front. Includes petite, plus, and petite plus options.
- Woolovers – Truly mind-boggling selection of colors, styles, and sizes. Wools and cashmeres are heavier/better quality than the cotton blends.
