*In this late-night feature – which will run on Tuesday and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*
Gwynne requested a few picks for professional-looking backpacks, so here we go:
Sherpani Click Vertical Tablet Shoulder Bag – was $64.95, now $29.99
Gonna be a lot of black tonight, friends, as I found relatively few colorful packs that looked truly professional. This one has a sleek, pared-down look but is still plenty roomy at 16″ x 4.5″ x 18″. As you may have gleaned from the name, this bag includes a padded table sleeve and band that can accommodate up to a 16″ laptop. Sherpani also makes a smaller, slightly more casual pack in plum or olive that has a similarly minimalist design.
eTech 2.0 Downloader Laptop Backpack – was $90, now $59.99
Slightly roomier at 18″ x 12″ x 6.5″, but still compact-looking this was one of the only backpacks I found that offered subdued, potentially office-appropriate colors like this burgundy. This guy features a fully padded laptop pocket (with removable pillow-foam pad for added protection), AND an open-top pocket for iPad/tablet storage. If the burgundy doesn’t send you, it also comes in indigo, olive, and black.
Nixon Platform Backpack II – was $40, now $31.99
In case you DON’T need to haul around your tech on your back, this simple, classy pack is basically just an upgrade of the typical bookbag. At 11″ x 6″ x 17″ it’s roomy but manageable, and features a PU-coated 1200D rip stop bottom for added protection and scuff resistance. Also comes in a cool but splashy camo print.
Kenneth Cole Reaction From The Top Backpack – was $119, now $62.99
And finally if you’re looking for a backpack with purse-like attributes, this is a winner. It’s faux leather so still vegan-friendly, and large enough for books and a mini tablet at 12″ x5″ x 12″. (Though it’s not padded, so if you’re carrying tech you might want to add a sleeve.) The studs add a little bit of edginess, but aren’t over-the-top. Would work for school, the office, or even a casual night out.
Other not-currently-on-sale resources for professional-looking backpacks:
- eBags – Always, always eBags when you’re in the market for a bag, especially a backpack or briefcase. In addition to the one above, love this gorgeous leather laptop backpack.
- Herschel – Some of these may feel a little rugged to fall under “professional,” but they’re certainly classier and more grown-up than your average Jansport. This minimalist pack comes in solid black or gray. Also check 6pm.
- Dakine – Although there are lots of florals and plaids, backpacks in simple solid black are in the mix, too. Also check eBags.
