*In this late-night feature – which will run on Tuesday and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*
Beth requested a few picks for combat boots, so here we go:
Timberland Women’s Double-Strap Boot – was $180, now $49.97 – $180
I’m biased in favor of these boots because I nabbed a gently used pair on eBay a few weeks ago and LOVE them. You can’t see it here, but there’s a zipper on the other side of the shaft, so that cool buckled panel can stay buckled indefinitely. Woo! They need some breaking in, but are incredibly well made, comfy, and – like most Timberlands – waterproof. Available in this black as well as brown or tan in U.S. sizes 5 – 11. Size availability varies by color. This slightly taller similar style is also by Timberland and comes in C/D widths.
Eric Michael Riley Boot – was $150, now $64.99 – $112.99
Mmmmm, gorgeous minimalist combat boots. This pair is so refined they might even work for non-casual days at the office. They’ll also look amazing with edgy/rocker and 90s-throwback outfits. (Who else misses floral dresses worn with dress clips?) Available in this black as well as a dark olive-brown in Euro sizes 35 – 41. Size availability varies by color. Also on 6pm. This similar pair is available in D and EE widths.
Mia Heritage Fatina Boot – was $138.95, now $33.99 – $111.99
I swear, Mia is such an underrated brand. Just check out that double-zipper action and burnished red finished. So cool, and eye-catching without being over-the-top. Not a fan of red? These also come in gray with cream laces or brown with tan laces in U.S. sizes 6 -10. Some sizes sold out on Amazon might be available over at Shoeline where this style is $47.99. Nothing truly similar in widths, but this Rockport pair has a cool buckle detail and comes in C/D widths.
Rocket Dog Tyree Spartan Boot – was $79.95, now $59.95 – $79.95
Beth wanted leather boots specifically, but I wanted to throw in a faux leather pair for you vegans. Especially since this Rocket Dog boot is such a funky take on the basic combat boot. Gets great reviews for comfort and versatility. Available in U.S. sizes 6 – 10.
Sustainable resources for combat boots:
- Frye – Check by style as not all are U.S.-made, but a few like these short block-heel boots are.
- Vintage Shoe Company – Ditto to Frye, but there are domestically made pairs like these magnificent mid-calf lace-ups.
- Yoox – Research by brand, but MANY are Italian- or Spanish-made, like this beautifully brogued pair.
Other not-currently-on-sale resources for combat boots:
- Steve Madden – Classic pairs with thoughtful twists, like the wrap-around lace option on the Troopa 2.
- Dr. Marten’s – The classic. Period.
- Frye – Yep, twice. Because Frye’s combats are just gorgeous. Get a load of this weathered brown pair.
