Insomniac Sale Picks: Cute, Comfy Flats

*In this late-night feature – which will run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*

The Closet Coach requested a few picks for cute, comfy flats, so here we go:

Born Alex Ballerina Flat – was $95, now $59.97

This is my absolute favorite style of flat: Plain, unembellished, round toe, sleek and simple. I don’t own this particular pair, but trust Born as a fabulously comfortable brand. This flat comes in this metallic blue, black patent, black leather, and two other mottled metallic finishes. Sizes 6 – 11.

Naturalizer Media – was $79, now $59.99

First off, just gotta give kudos to Naturalizer for offering this darling flat in sizes 4 – 12, many in AA and C widths. WOO! This style has a soft, supportive footbed and flexible outsole, and a slightly wicking lining for added comfort. The croc-embossed detail at the buckle is such fun!

ECCO Keystone Ballerina – was $130, now $84.99

Comfort seldom comes cheap when we’re talking shoes, but ECCO is well worth the investment. This company is renowned for crafting footwear that can handle even the fussiest of feet. These flats have a flexible sole with a metal shank for support, a breathable liner, and a comfy rounded toe. Available in sizes 36 to 41, in this gorgeous cognac, port, and black.

Other not-currently-on-sale resources for cute, comfy flats:

  1. Tsubo – They aren’t making my beloved Elath ballet flat any longer, but this brand is amazing for comfort, quality, and style.
  2. Sofft – Always a great bet for comfort, quality construction, and classic style.
  3. Clarks – Especially if you include subsidiaries Indigo and Privo, this brand is bound to offer you a flat that’s as comfy as it is cute.

Those are all cute shoes, but the toe boxes look really shallow to me. I don’t do toe cleavage, so I always look for flats that will still cover my tootsies. đŸ™‚

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who loves a round toe! What Not To Wear keeps going on about short people wearing pointy-toed shoes to make their legs look longer, but longer legs be damned. I hate wearing pointy shoes; they make me feel like I’m dressed up as a witch for Halloween.

I like round-toed shoes, as long as the toe-box completely covers my toes. Long, pointy-toed shoes always make me feel like I’m wearing the wrong size shoe. I usually end up going with square-toed or gently-pointed toes that don’t make the shoes look a size bigger.

    Hi Sally,
nice picks- round toed shoes might not be the most elegant, but they are so comfortable.

Could you pick some inspiration for dresses one could wear as a wedding guest? I have to attend three weddings this summer (everybody seems to marry like crazy this year), and I am stumped. The selection on the Asos-website is huge, but I am not wild about most of them. The dresses are all pretty short and skimpy, not really appropriate for a wedding. I hesitate to even try anything although they offer free shipping to Europe. Can you help?
