*In this late-night feature – which will run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*
Angela requested a few picks for Fair Isle Sweaters, preferably in wool or cashmere, so here we go:
Land’s End Fair Isle Drop Shoulder Merino Sweater – was $119, now $52.49
with promo code FRIENDLY and pin 3055
If you love the look of Fair Isle but don’t dig the traditional high crew neckline that generally accompanies the knit, this low scoop is a great alternative. And it’s 100% merino! Available in sizes XS – XL, including some petite sizes. (This Land’s End Fair Isle turtleneck comes in standard, petite, and plus sizes through 3X.)
Banana Republic Fair Isle Pullover – was $89.50, now $53.70
with code HOL2013
This guy is a blend and does include some acrylic, but also lots of real wool. A classic Fair Isle with detailing across the collarbone and shoulders, though it does feature 3/4-length sleeves. Available in black and also a cream/gold/coral variation in sizes XS- XL. (Here’s a black, cotton-blend Fair Isle pullover in 1X – 3X.)
Boden Fair Isle Yoke Sweater – was $118, now $100.30
with code N005
Another classic option with the Fair Isle yoke detailing, but this time in vibrant shades. And made from machine-washable lambswool! Available in this silver/orange version as well as citron/navy and turquoise/black iterations in sizes 2 – 18. Size availability varies by color.
Other not-currently-on-sale resources for Fair Isle Sweaters:
- eBay – Mostly used, of course, but with over 1,500 options you’re bound to find a sweater or two that appeal.
- Sundance Catalog – Some man-mades in there, but naturals, too, like this wool/cotton blend turtleneck.
- Nordstrom – Might seem like a cop-out, but very few vendors stock more than a few Fair Isles, and most are acrylic! Nordie’s has more, including this wool/alpaca blend.
- And, of course, THRIFT STORES! Fair Isle is a classic style, and I’ve seen many in my local thrift shops. (thethriftshopper.com can help you locate stores near you.)
