Insomniac Sale Picks: Family-friendly Graphic/Slogan Tees

*In this late-night feature – which will run on Tuesday and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*

Keely requested a few picks for SAHM-appropriate graphic or slogan tees, so here we go:

Threadless, Magic Doors – was $27, now $19.95

I realize that kid-friendly graphic tees don’t have to reference kiddie content, but seriously, how cool is this arty Monsters Inc. tee? You hardly need know it’s Pixar-related! Available in sizes S – XXL, runs small. For sustainable and plus size options, try Etsy for more Monsters Inc. tees. Also love this Lego-joke shirt and corgi-on-bike tee.

old navy graphic tee

Old Navy Drop-shoulder Graphic Tee – was $14.94, now $9

Some slogan tees really do tend to be loaded down with innuendo these days, but not all. I love the quiet confidence of this simple, elegant “limitless” shirt. A positive message, no? Available in sizes XS – XXL, also available in plus sizes. Zazzle allows you to print virtually any of their designs on organic cotton tees.

abstract graphic tee

Lucky Brand Paint Stroke Tee – was $39.50, now $13.23 – $17.99

I’ve found that tees with larger, abstract graphics like this one layer beautifully. Pop a slogan tee under a jacket and you may end up with odd random letters showing, but this paint stroke tee will still look super chic. Can’t find this exact one, but Lucky does many gorgeous graphic tees in plus sizes. For handmade tees with brushstroke designs, check Etsy.

Out of Print Where the Wild Things Are – $22.01 – $29.95

Throwing this non-sale tee into the mix in case anyone is unfamiliar with Out of Print, a line of book-related graphic tees. This style is also available in plus sizes, and if you prefer something literary but not focused on a single title, try this hyperbole tee. For handmade Wild Things tees, check here.

Other not-currently-on-sale resources for family-friendly graphic tees:

  1. Old Navy – Loads of fun choices in a variety of sizes. Love this long-sleeved “Fabulous!” slogan tee.
  2. Etsy – As mentioned above. A marvelous resource for graphics and slogans both vintage and handmade, like this sweet “Thankful” heart tee.
  3. Threadless – Artist-designed and incredibly diverse. Also includes a variety of tee styles including scoopnecks, dolmans, and boat necks.

Oh, great. Just when I was trying to avoid Threadless and save some money! My favorite tee is from there, a very clever one themed on the tests to reach the Holy Grail, from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

  2. Dust. Wind. Bun.

argh that Out Of Print has a Brave New World shirt – wish I’d thought to look for one before I finished my master’s – I totally would have worn it to my thesis defense. (My thesis was about BNW.) So many cute options!

Most days zulliy has cute family friendly graphic tees. Not all are kid friendly but most would work just fine.

The art tshirts from Uniqlo are great, too! Recently they’ve had Moomintrolls, Leo Lionni, and Beatrix Potter collections. And I love the modern art selections – Keith Haring, Mondrian, etc.
