Insomniac Sale Picks: Flats in Fun Colors

*In this late-night feature – which will run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*

A.B. requested a few picks for non-embellished flats in solid, fun colors, so here we go:

2. Born Julianne Petunia

Born Julianne – was $90, now $72.99

Gah. I want these for myself! Magenta is a wonderfully versatile jewel tone, and Born is a wonderfully reliable brand. I’m such a fan of a basic round-toe. Available in US sizes 6 – 10, sold out in 9.5. This lovely flat also comes in tan, gray, and gold which are also on sale, as well as black, white, pale blue, and mint which are full price.

1. Report Chris Turquoise

Report Chris – was $60, now $47.99

For whatever reason, curled/elasticized flats hurt my feet, but I know so many women who swear by them. These little lovelies have either fabric or leather uppers, and have gotten some rave reviews. Available in turquoise fabric, gold leather, coral fabric, black leather, and tan leather in US sizes 6 – 10. Size availability varies by color.

4. Rockport - Ashika Scooped Ballet (Poppy Red Leather)

Rockport Ashika Scooped Ballet – was $90, now $64.99

If a pointed toe suits your taste, this style will be just the thing. Rockport is another renowned comfort brand, and these feature adiPRENE® and adiPRENE+® by adidas® sport technology in the heel and forefoot to absorb shock with every step. Available in US sizes 5 – 11 – including some wide widths – in red, lime green, navy reptile print,, cream, gray reptile print, black, yellow, brown reptile print, navy patent, and black reptile print. Size availability varies by color.

6. Vince Camuto 'Ellen' Flat - Bright Yellow

Vince Camuto Ellen – was $78.95, now $52.90

Oh, let’s do one more, shall we? These super soft leather flats also have an elasticized topline – great for folks who have trouble with slippage – and a nice, low profile. Available in US sizes 5 – 10 in yellow, coral, red, and mint. Size availability varies by color.

Other not-currently-on-sale resources for non-embellished flats in solid, fun colors:

  1. Miz Mooz – Brighter shades in summer, but this brand nearly always offers cute flats in lots of colors.
  2. Frye – They are NOT cheap, but Frye consistently does simple ballets in a gorgeous rainbow of shades.
  3. Gap – Mixed reviews for quality, but generally lots of color variety. And they’re affordable!

    Thank you!

Now I’m lusting over the magenta Borns.

I’m going to pass this link on to my mom because she has the same issue as I do finding this kind of shoes locally. Different size and foot shape, same issue finding shoes.

Sally, have you tried Tieks before? I read about them and wanted them for a couple of years before finally buying a pair. My feet hurt from 95% of shoes I wear (and I’ve tried cheap to expensive brands) and these have been a godsend!

Cute–I really like the aqua Report ones. I wonder, have you had any experience with any of these? I find flat comfort is so hit or miss! They often give me blisters on my heel :((
