Insomniac Sale Picks: Floral Formal Dresses

*In this late-night feature – which will run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*

Marlee requested a few picks for floral formal dresses (for a school dance!), so here we go:

Ever Pretty Double V-neck Floral Printed Satin Party Dress – was $119, now $59.99

Oh, oh, oh do I adore this dress! From the high waist and full skirt to the sweetheart neckline and slightly avant-garde print. Available in sizes 4 – 14.

DEPT Dreamy Flower Maxi Dress – was $119, now $82.99

This floaty, flowy maxi is a great option if a long skirt just feels more formal to you. It’s got a halter tie and full lining, with a gorgeous all-over watercolor floral print. I’d love to see this with some subtly sparkly jewelry. Available in sizes XS – XL.

Bot-Any Which Way Dress – was $129.99, now $90.99

This dress is only available in sizes XS – M, but I couldn’t resist including it. The bows at the shoulders and waist, that tucked and pinned skirt, and the gorgeous red print … such fun! It’s 100% cotton, so probably not a good bet for late fall or winter.

Sabine One Shoulder Printed Maxi Dress – was $79, now $32.97

This frock, on the other hand, will transition beautifully to fall. Burgundy is the hot color for the season, and this print will work equally well right now or in cooler temps. Available in sizes S -L.

Other not-currently-on-sale resources for floral formal dresses:

  1. Anthropologie – Especially if you’re looking for something relatively non-traditional, this vendor is a great bet. Florals are a staple, too. Love this floaty strapless option.
  2. eDressme – Again, this site is a clearinghouse for all things formal. Florals aren’t super common, but they’re definitely in the mix!
  3. Nordstrom – For a variety of styles at multiple price points, this department store delivers. Plus size options, too. This charmeuse gown is gorgeous.
  4. Etsy – Vintage and handmade florals galore!

What about that Spanish company that has the bright color/pattern dresses? Do they have anything formal and floral?

    • Sal

Most of their stuff seems very casual to me, Chris. Especially since much of it is made from cotton jersey!

Oh my god the third dress is so beautiful I actually think it got my heart rate up and it’s in my size and…I do not have 90 bucks to spend on an item that can’t be an everyday staple in the casual wardrobe of a college scientist.

    First world problems, man.

What? you mean you can’t throw a lab coat over it : – ) It is adorable. I did get a chuckle out of your comment, thanks for that!

I agree! I wish I was going to a school dance đŸ™‚ (Although, at my age, that would be creepy)
The third one is also super cute.
