*In this late-night feature – which will run on Tuesday and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*
Cathi requested a few picks for high-waisted dress pants, so here we go:
Talbots Compact Ponte Trouser – was $119, now $83.38
discount will appear in cart
Ahhh, the perfect double-dose of comfort: A high waist on a ponte pant. Since these are unlined, they’re machine washable which makes them an even better value. Welt pockets and a set-in waistband create a sleek fit. Available in this navy as well as brown, heather gray, or black in sizes 2 -20, including long lengths, petites, plus sizes, and petite plus. Size availability varies by color. Need something dressier than ponte? Talbots’ Italian Flannel trouser also features a high waist.
Chelsea28 Pleated Wide Leg Pant – was $88, now $52.90
Bored with black dress pants? How fun would it be to work these bold flame orange trousers into winter rotation? These are also unlined and made from crepe so they won’t be super warm on their own, but they feature a sky-high 10.5″ front rise. Whew. Also available in black or blue in sizes 00 – 14. Size availability varies by color. A slightly slimmer leg comes in black or orange, too. This similar style comes in black or cobalt in sizes 14- 28.
NYDJ Sandrah Slim Trousers – was $120, now $90
with code HOLIDAYS25
High waists and wide legs tend to go together, but this style has a 9.75″ rise and straight leg styling. Made from a machine washable poly-viscose blend and designed with non-bulky welt pockets and the dressy silhouette of a trouser. Available in this pale gray as well as navy, black, or dark heather gray in sizes 0 -18. Size availability varies by color. Also in cotton tweed here, and in petite sizes and plus sizes.
So two “strikes” against this pant: It’s not on sale and the description claims it’s a mid-rise. But at $28 it’s still quite a bargain, and that looks like a pretty high rise to me. Wanted to include it because this is a cotton pant with a bit of stretch – great if you don’t dig man-made materials – and it comes in this burgundy as well as mint, navy, dark blue, black, brown, and light khaki in sizes 4 – 18, including some short and long lengths. Size availability varies by color. Also available in plus sizes.
Sustainable resources for high-waisted dress pants:
- Everlane – The wide leg styles are both high waisted, but all of Everlane’s pants tend to be nice and high.
- Bailey 44 – Made in the U.S.A. and super stylish. This printed wide leg is outstanding.
- NYDJ – On the casual end of dressy, but offers a few great styles like these ponte trousers.
Other not-currently-on-sale resources for high-waisted dress pants:
- Talbots – All styles are at the waist or just below. Most in regular, petite, plus, and petite plus sizes with a few talls, too.
- Kohl’s – Lots of styles in the gamut of sizes, though not all are super dressy.
- Nordstrom – Along with lots of NYDJ options, you’ll find affordable classic styles like these Halogen suit pants.
