Insomniac Sale Picks: Knit Blazers

*In this late-night feature – which will run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*

Hope requested a few picks for knit blazers, so here we go:

Gap Bright Ponte Blazer – was $79.95, now $55.97 with code NEWYOU

I am fighting the urge to buy this blazer in all available colors – this pink, a neon green, bright coral, heather gray, and basic black. I’ve seen it in person and it’s a soft but structured double-knit ponte. Just as comfy and cute as can be. Comes in XS to XXL.

Liz Claiborne New York Ponte Knit Notch Collar Blazer – was $53, now $39.78

This blazer looks a bit boxier than the Gap option, but buttons similarly high on the torso and includes roomy pockets. A cute, casual basic that would look adorable with a striped top or funky scarf. Available in black, brown, and navy in sizes XS through 1X.

LC Lauren Conrad Ponte Blazer – was $70, now $38.50

This clean-lined blazer has some nice princess seaming on the sides, cute cuffed sleeves, and a flattering two-button construction. It’s fully lined, which is helpful since knit blazers can stick to inner layers. Available in sizes 8 to 14.

Other not-currently-on-sale resources for knit blazers:

  1. Express – I just bought this striped knit blazer and adore it. Cropped, fitted, and fun.
  2. – This site always goes the extra mile in terms of size range. This IssacMizrahiLive blazer comes in XXS to 3X and three colors.
  3. Piperlime – A brand called Tinley Road is selling a handful of DARLING knit blazers on Piperlime, including striped, solid with a cute shoulder detail, and belted military.
  4. QUICK TIP: Search for “ponte blazer” instead of “knit blazer.” Far more options will come up!

Just as an FYI that Gap code only works for denim. If you haven’t subscribed to Gap emails though you could always do that and then they’ll send you a coupon. I think it’s something like 15.00 off a 75.00 purchase.

Hm. I tried it yesterday and it worked on this blazer. Maybe it expired for certain items …

I just called customer service, looks like it expired and the deal they have now is 30% off of jeans only. I’m sure another code will pop up at some time. I love this feature by the way!

Since it’s so cold I’d love to see some warm winter things featured like stylish warm tights and 3/4 length down coats.

Also I have been looking for a warm v neck cardigan in a rich, pretty color. I had one that was warm, but I wasn’t crazy about the fit or color so I gave it to my sister when she admired it.

Well, considering something like 7/10 of your last outfit posts include a long sweater, I figured you were on a bit of a kick ;).

My concern is that the overall shape of these garments do not flatter a pear shaped figure like mine. Draping requires a gentle hourglass at most, otherwise the sweaters flare out at my widest point and then cling back closer to the body near the knees, making me look exaggerated because of the bulky fabric. I find that more body conscious clothing is usually more flattering on me.

I would love to see some wearable drop-waist dresses in this feature! I’m short-torsoed and I adore what they do for me (while also loving them for themselves), and with the lingering 20s influence, I see them everywhere in editorial… Yet I have the hardest time finding any that are not restricted to party-wear (heavily sequined, fringed, super-short, etc.) Where are the jersey and ponte, the wool and modal dresses for the waist-weary?
Knee- or thigh- length trapeze dresses (I’m thinking of a mod silhouette, there, but I don’t think these are quite so fashionable right now) would also be nice…

Thanks Sally! Seeing this post felt like Christmas morning.

Love the tip about “ponte” vs. “knit” and I really like the LC Lauren Conrad piece. I’m finding knit blazers work so much better for me on casual days, with jeans, under a winter coat and over my size E bust …

Prior to reading your blog, I had been opposed to wearing colour. Thanks to you, I bought a velvet blazer in that exact shade of pink for $2.50 at the Salvation Army. It is fabulous.

Thank you!! This is exactly the garment I have been wanting but didn’t know what I actually wanted. Yay!
