*In this late-night feature – which will run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*
Heather requested a few picks for long cardigans, so here we go:
Kenneth Cole New York Open Weave Cardigan – was $149.50, now $88.90
Since we’re headed into warm weather, this extra long cardigan might seem a bit too cozy. But don’t be fooled! It’s got a gorgeously subtle open weave that makes it ideal for spring temps. Available in sizes XS – L. Also in 1X – 3X for $105.90.
Athleta Serendipity Sweater Coat – was $128, now $79.99
This cotton blend cardigan is a warmer option, for sure, but ever so cute. I love the chunky knit trim, snap closures, and empire waistline detailing. Available in sizes XXS – XL in purple, patchy availability in white and navy. Also available in sizes 1X and 2X in purple or white.
Express Boyfriend Cardigan – was $49.90, now $29.90
The bargain of the bunch, this cotton boyfriend style cardigan is a fabulous basic. Scrunch the sleeves as shown here for a seasonal look. Available in this yellow, heathered blue, pink, red and white in XS – L. (Certain colors are sold out in some sizes.)
Other not-currently-on-sale resources for long cardigans:
- Piperlime
– From drapey and boxy to slim and fitted, this typically shoe-centric vendor delivers on long cardigans. Search for “cardigan” for best results.
- Nordstrom – Great selection of styles, colors, and fabrics. Fabulous plus offerings, too, and a few petites. Search for “long cardigan” or “boyfriend cardigan.”
- Boden
– Check the current season offerings and the clearance section for some elegant long cardi options! This subtly embellished one
caught my eye.

Hi Sally,
I have been reading your blog for a few months now and really enjoy it. I’m curious, what do you think is the best way to store a long cardigan? I have several and feel like it’s a bad idea to hang for too long, but folding is clumsy and I usually end up with a ball. Any suggestions?
Oh Lora, I wish I had a great solution! Hanging can work if the cardigan is sturdy, but no matter what you’ll probably end up with shoulder nipples. (https://alreadypretty.com/2011/11/how-to-deal-with-shoulder-nipples.html) I fold mine – like so: http://www.realsimple.com/beauty-fashion/clothing-care/how-to-fold-a-sweater-10000001160130/index.html But instead of one fold at the final step, I fold long cardigans in thirds so they fit into my shelves.
Most of them get a quick pass with the steamer before wearing, especially if they’ve been folded for a long time.
Hope that helps!
I would love to see some colored (or patterned) rain coats or trench coats for spring.
(unless you’ve already done this one?)
Thanks!!!
