Insomniac Sale Picks: Longer Skirts with Pockets

*In this late-night feature – which will run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*

Anna requested a few picks for knee-length or longer skirts with pockets, so here we go:

1. Tulle Spring Sunrise Skirt

Tulle Spring Sunrise Skirt – was $60, now $54.99

This retro-influenced skirt is fully lined and just a bit below knee length. (25.25″ long and this model is 5’9″ for reference.) Look closely at those external pockets and you’ll see they have a very cool peekaboo detail! Available in sizes XS – XL.

Ed Garments Straight Skirt – was $40.99, now $30.99

If you prefer subtler pockets, this simple straight skirt features on-seam side pockets. This guy is 25″ long and machine washable! Available in black, navy, dark navy, and heather gray in sizes 0 -26 (sold out in 22). Size availability varies by color.

5. NYDJ Emma Skirt Fine Line Twill

NYDJ Emma Skirt Fine Line Twill – was $88, now $36.99

And for a casual option, here’s this denim-styled twill pencil skirt. 24″ long and done up in an array of fun colors for summer wear. Available in pink, orange, charcoal, caramel, and pale yellow in sizes 0 – 18. Size availability varies by color.

Other not-currently-on-sale resources for knee-length or longer skirts with pockets:

  1. Boden – You can search for knee-length and below-knee styles, many of which are pocketed! LOVE this polka dot a-line.
  2. eShakti – This company’s default length is below-knee, but they also stock lots of knee-length skirts and many of their designs include pockets. On some models you can select length and add or remove pockets. How cute is this black and white striped skirt?
  3. Land’s End – Most skirts are cut long and most have pockets.
  4. And, of course, THRIFT STORES! Longer hemlines were stylish in decades past, so those will be abundant. Pockets might be harder to find, but it’s worth a look. ( can help you locate stores near you.)

The Tulle skirt comes in sizes up to XL, but beware: Tulle’s size guide: An XL is an 8-10, waist 29.5.

A word of caution re: the NYDJ skirts — they look great and feel better, with just a bit of stretch, but they don’t wash very well. 🙁

“Petite dress slacks?” Yes, please. My work place mandates black dress pants and polishable black shoes. The shoes aren’t hard to find as I am a fairly standard shoe size, but pants for petites (at a good price) are difficult.
