Insomniac Sale Picks: Narrow A-line Skirts

*In this late-night feature – which will run on Tuesday and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*

Katy requested a few picks for narrow a-line skirts, so here we go:

Nine West Zipper Detailed A-Line Skirt – was $79, now $39.99

Gah, I love this skirt. Simple and clean, but those zipper details make it just the tiniest bit edgy. Definitely less fitted than a pencil, but designed with just the slightest a-line flare. It’s made from a bi-stretch material, so should have some comfy give, too. Available in sizes 2 – 16. (No zipper details, but this black slight a-line is available in 1X and 2X.)

Royal Robbins Kick Around Skirt – was $65, now $45.99

Considerably more casual, but potentially acceptable for arty or laid-back office environments, this paneled a-line is also nice and narrow in its cut. The front pockets are a cute detail, but the back is pocket-free for a sleek fit. Available in this olive green, rust red, and tan in sizes 2 – 16. Size availability varies by color. (It’s far more formal, but this cute tan skirt is available in sizes 14W – 24W.)

NIC+ZOE Peek-A-Boo Tulip Skirt – was $108, now $31.99

Coral is hot for spring and summer, and this scalloped hem skirt would be such a fun way to wear it. Although it has “tulip” in the name, this is a gentle a-line. Tulip in this case refers to the flowery hemline detail. Available in sizes 2 – 16. (This knit skirt is a bit more flared, but comes in coral in 0X-3X, petite, and tall sizes.)

Other not-currently-on-sale resources for narrow a-line skirts:

  1. Boden – I prefer fuller skirts, and since Boden’s a-lines are too narrow for me, they might be perfect for Katy! (Or you!) This solid skirt comes in four great colors through size 18.
  2. Land’s End – Lots of lovely narrow a-lines, including this animal print in petite and plus sizes.
  3. eShakti – Although this retailer specializes in full retro skirts, they’ve got a few slimmer a-lines, too.
  4. And, of course, THRIFT STORES! It’ll be hit or miss, for sure, but a-line skirts are classic and you just might find the perfect one. (thethriftshopper.com can help you locate stores near you.)

You’re awesome ! Wonderful picks which I wouldn’t have found on my own !

Wow, thanks for the link on that Land’s End skirt. I ended up with two dresses, too, which were also on sale. I thank you; my checking account does not!

I had one of those Royal Robbins skirts and I didn’t like it. It has a contoured waistband and it doesn’t sit securely and the skirt twisted around all the time. If I wore a belt it stayed put better, but a belt on a low waist like that wasn’t flattering to me.
