*In this late-night feature – which will run on Tuesday and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*
Hilary requested a few picks for work-appropriate skirts with full or partial elastic waistbands, so here we go:
Land’s End Matte Jersey Skirt – was $59, now $26.24 – $44.25
with code BESTFRIEND and pin 1686
Darling, right? And a versatile knee-length in a cute pattern with a wide, flat elastic waistband. If this teal doesn’t send you, there are three cute black and white prints and a pretty navy/camel abstract. And since it’s Land’s End, this skirt is available in regular, petite, and plus sizes. You can also buy this skirt in solid black or navy.
Halogen Woven Midi Skirt – was $59, now $29.90
Many skirts with elastic waists are knit, but wovens like this one often read as more formal. Since this one has a traditional ruched elastic waist instead of a flat band, it might work best to belt over the band or opt for an untucked top. Available in this solid black as well as a bright cobalt polka dot print in regular and petite sizes XS – XL. This skirt is jersey but similar length and style in sizes 14 – 24, and here’s a slightly shorter ponte option in 16 – 28.
Karen Kane Pencil Skirt – was $58, now $40.99
And in case you’re more of a pencil skirt person, here’s a sleek, classic option with a wide elastic waistband. It’s unlined so perhaps not ideal for cold winter weather, but great for any non-tights-based outfit. Available in sizes XS – XL. Also here in 0X – 3X. If you’re looking for an elastic waist pencil skirt that’s not black, 6pm has lots of other options.
Other not-currently-on-sale resources for work-appropriate skirts with full or partial elastic waistbands:
- Land’s End – Many more options in addition to the one above, including this longer length knit skirt in solids. As always, LE stocks petite, plus, tall, and petite plus in many styles!
- J.Jill – More elastic options than not, including pencil styles like this one.
- Nordstrom – Over 40 cute options, including petite and plus.
- And, of course, THRIFT STORES! Actually, this is where I’d start. I see just about as many elastic skirts as not when I thrift. (thethriftshopper.com can help you locate stores near you.)
