Insomniac Sale Picks: Overnight Bags

*In this late-night feature – which will run on Tuesday and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*

Karen requested a few picks for overnight bags, so here we go:

LeSportsac Luggage Large Weekender – was $116, now $87

You all know how much I love me some Le Sportsac. If you’re looking for a super lightweight and/or vegan option, this roomy weekender fits the bill. It clocks in at 20.5″ x 10″ x 14″ with a 22″ strap drop. And yes, it comes with that darling matching accessory bag. Available in this floral as well as blue shibori, black eyelet, and a rather kooky cartoon print.

Bellino Stefan – was $179, now $146.99

SO PRETTY. I have no use for an overnight bag and am still tempted by this beaut. A little smaller at 19.5″ x 12″ x 8.5″ but still roomy enough to pack the necessities for a short trip. And it features a super cool framed top for easy opening and access. Bellino does some lovely bags – this all-leather duffle is another gorgeous option.

aldo ciccone

Aldo Ciccone – was $60, now $44.98

Such a sleek, classic bag at a ridiculously great price. Faux leather, of course, with a flat base for stability and a roomy 20″ x 9″ x 12″ interior. Strap drop is 27.5″ and the bag features two exterior slip pockets and an exterior zip pocket.

Lipault Paris

Lipault Paris Weekend Satchel – was $99, now $59.99

Very pink, and also lightweight, durable, and water resistant. This bag doesn’t come with a shoulder strap, but does feature a clever strap that allows you to slip the tote over an upright case for consolidated travel. 22″ x 9.5″ x 13″.

Other not-currently-on-sale resources for overnight bags:

  1. eBags – In addition to the option above, a variety of bags from duffles to rollers.
  2. Cath Kidston – Cute and affordable in four prints.
  3. Zappos – Everything from gorgeous leather to lightweight nylon.

ooooh is that last one a framed bag? I have a thing about framed bags…

on a similar subject: if your weekend is fairly pared-down, or you need something that can behave as a carry-on/side trip bag (like, an overnight side trip in the middle of some other trip) anyway point being, it’s a bit smaller than these bags, but I absolutely love my Reisenthel Allrounder. They’re framed satchel/duffle-types that come in 4 sizes – small, medium, large (19x11x16), and what they call the “plus” size, which is the medium but taller (14x7x14, the one I have). They come in a number of colors and prints from plain to wild, and I can vouch for how nice they are – mine serves as my laptop bag/small carryon when I travel for business. The fabric is a heavy, sturdy-feeling luggage-type nylon, and I’m not sure if all of them are padded, but the “plus” models are, with inner and outer pockets.

Amazon carries them, and one of the major importers also lists them on Ebay, and I want to say I paid about $50 for mine, which was pretty standard for that model at the time. The only reason I don’t own more of them (including the full-suitcase model from that series that I drool over) is that I don’t travel enough for me to justify buying EVERY BAG like I wish I could.
