Insomniac Sale Picks: Plus-sized Skinny Jeans

*In this late-night feature – which will run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*

Carrie requested a few picks for plus-sized skinny jeans, so here we go:

international concepts plus skinnyjeans

INC International Concepts Plus Size Skinny Jeans – was $79.50, now $66.99

You all know me and how I love a higher rise, and these clock in at 9″ so at least a mid rise on many figures. I’m also a fan of dark washes, and this one is fabulous with just a hint of shading. A great classic skinny that will dress up or down beautifully. Available in sizes 14 – 24, including petite plus sizes!

macys skinny jeans

s&co. Plus Size Skinny Jeans in Stream Wash – was $64, now $31.99
with code GREAT

An even higher rise (11″) and an even darker wash, but still sleek and stylish. These are completely without shading and whiskering, for a totally clean look. Tuck ’em into black boots and throw on a long cardigan for a cozy weekend outfit. Or if you prefer a lighter wash, here’s the same exact style in a lighter (but still fairly dark) blue. Both are available in sizes 14W – 24W.

black plus size skinny jeans

Hydraulic Bailey Super Skinny Jeans – was $74, now $61.99

And the darkest wash of all? Black. My black skinny pants are among my most-worn garments, so I wanted to throw these into the mix. They’ve got a little bit of faux leather piping at the pockets for added edge. Love it. Available in sizes 14W – 24W.

levis plus size skinny jeans

Levi’s Plus Size Skinny Jeans – was, $58, now $43.50

And since plenty of the world prefers slightly lighter washes, here’s a more-blue-than-navy pair of skinny Levi’s. These also feature an 11″ rise, classic five-pocket styling, and get rave reviews from customers. Available in sizes 16W – 24W.

Other not-currently-on-sale resources for plus-sized skinny jeans:

  1. NYDJ – Spendy, but worth it. Go for the “legging” styles for a truly skinny fit as others may be a bit more like straight legs on certain figures. A great bet if you prefer a higher rise. Also check Nordstrom and 6pm.
  2. Lane Bryant – Surprisingly good variety of styles from slim to super skinny. And includes super cute boyfriend jeans!
  3. Old Navy – Lower rise options in classic dark washes right now. Lighter offerings will appear as the seasons shift.
  4. Torrid – If you prefer a slightly lower rise, this juniors brand offers skinny and curvy skinny options.

The Lane Bryant stuff may not be officially on sale on their website, but if you are on their mailing list, you get random “today only” coupons that are good in store and online. A few days ago, there was one for 50% off jeans. Their jeans usually also go on 30-50% off sale after the holidays. I have also found that it’s fairly easy to find Lane Bryant jeans on eBay. For that route, I’d spot-check my size in the store first, because they keep changing their size schemes for pants & jeans.

Thanks soooo much for these . . . my jeans are on their last leg and I was hoping to get some in the post holiday sales. Thanks to Courtney too for the Lane Bryant tip — as a pear shape I generally don’t do Lane Bryant because everything is too big, but if they have some curvy cut jeans I’ll sign up for the discounts ASAP!

I like the oldnavy skinny sweathearts personally. The rise is higher then most of their jeans and for me at least they fit well.

Thanks for this. Skinny leg totally isn’t my style, but I was on the hunt for a pair for wearing with knee boots. The s&co. ones look great!

I found my best pair recently from City Chic – I don’t do skinny but others have been happy with their version. The denim they use holds its shape really well, and they include button tabs inside the waistband for adjusting to your curves – no more back gap for us hippy girls!
