Insomniac Sale Picks: Plus-sized V-neck T-shirts

*In this late-night feature – which will run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*

Carrie requested a few picks for plus-sized v-neck t-shirts, so here we go:

District Threads Perfect Fit 1×1 V-Neck – was $19.69, now $13.49

This brand is a new one to me, but I’ve had great luck myself with the various American-Apparel-lookalikes that flood Amazon. Also I’m a HUGE fan of 1×1 for tees and tanks: It’s like the subtlest ribbing ever, which means it conforms to the body without clinging. Fingers crossed that District Threads is a good bet. This tee is available in sizes S – XXXXL, though these are juniors garments so be sure to consult the sizing chart. Comes in this pink, white, black, navy, charcoal, and yellow. (Also see this slub cotton option) Availability and price vary by color.

Avenue Basic V-Neck Tee – was $20, now $14.99

This style runs a bit long according to the single posted review, so be aware. It’s also a cotton-poly blend, in case anyone is a stickler for 100% cotton. Available in sizes 14 – 32 in this red, 14-28 in navy and light blue.

Woman Within Slub Knit Tee – was $24.99, now $19.99

An updated basic, this style includes subtle drawstrings at the sides so you can customize fit. The slub cotton adds a bit of pattern to the fabric. Available in sizes 1X – 5X in this teal, hot pink, turquoise, white, orange, and green. Availability and price vary by color.

Other not-currently-on-sale resources for plus-sized v-neck t-shirts:

  1. Old Navy – Carrie isn’t a fan of ON’s offerings, but they do consistently stock affordable basics in lots of colors. If this brand works for your figure, it’s a good bet for tees. This heathered vintage style is adorable.
  2. Land’s End – Stripes, solids, brights, dusty shades, and pastels all available in a variety of v-necked styles.
  3. Nordstrom – Flattering Vs and scoops abound! This style is a fave of mine, and comes in solids as well as stripes.
  4. Target – Loads of styles and colors, including a few embellished v-necks. Between this mini pocket style and this plain basic, lots of colorful ground gets covered.

Great post! I spent the last two weeks shopping everywhere I could think of to find decent t-shirts for work. Thanks for these tips!
(I picked up a couple of these at JCPennys of all places – they seem to be pretty good so far – soft, opaque and a sleeve long enough to cover my tattoos:|SearchResults|RICHREL)

I just wanted to mention though, that the Old Navy vintage tees are pretty much disposable. Wear and wash a few times and you’ve got a pilled mess not fit to dust a table with. 🙂 Thanks for the post!

What is 1×1? I get that it’s some kind of rib knit, but you can’t see the ribs in the picture.

    • Sal

Narrow or baby rib knit. You can’t see the ribbing, but it gives the knit some ease.

Hi Sally, I enjoy visiting your blog. Still reading my way through the archives! Your Insomniac Sale Picks idea is fun and I would like to suggest something I want (it’s not really a need). A sleeveless jacket/vest to throw-on when I leave the house. Maybe one a khaki/ olive green….love the colour. It’d give the sense of layering without the bulk/warmth on the arms.
