Insomniac Sale Picks: Ponte Fit-and-flare Dresses

*In this late-night feature – which will run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*

Brianna requested a few picks for ponte fit-and-flare dresses, so here we go:

ann taylor ponte dress

Ann Taylor Ponte 3/4 Sleeve Flounce Dress – was $139, now
with code TAKE40

Behold: The unicorn of dresses! Ponte, fit-and-flare, WITH SLEEVES. I love the simple styling and 3/4 sleeves, which mean this frock can be a year-round fave. The belt is not included, though you could certainly swap in your own.  Available in red, charcoal, and a deep teal in sizes 00 -18, as well as petite and tall sizes. (This similar elbow-sleeve ponte dress is available in plus sizes 0X – 3X.)

Eliza J Ponte Knit Skater Dress – was $138, now $82.80

Many fit-and-flare styles are high-waisted, but this dress has waist-shaping princess seams minus the hard waistline. Pair it with a blazer for now, and wear it through spring and summer on its own. Available in blue and black in sizes 2 – 16. Size availability varies by color. Also in petite sizes 2 – 12. (This dress comes in teal and black in sizes 14W – 26W. More of an A-line, but close! Also in petite and tall sizes.)

AGB Short-Sleeve Ponte-Knit A-Line Dress

AGB Short-Sleeve Ponte-Knit A-Line Dress – was $58, now $36.99
with code GOBBLE

Half-sleeves are better than no sleeves, and this dress could still be layered! It’s unlined and machine washable with a versatile scoop neckline. This one DOES come with the belt, but again you could always remove it or swap in a different one. Available in red, black, and plum in sizes 0 -18. Size availability varies by color.

Other not-currently-on-sale resources for ponte fit-and-flare dresses:

  1. Boden – Boden’s definition of “ponte” often includes a nubby knit, but they’ve got lots of gorgeous frocks in heavy doubleknits including this gorgeous one.
  2. Banana Republic – This is the season to hit up BR for ponte dresses, including cuties like this microdot pleated skirt dress.
  3. Nordstrom – As always, a great resource for all dresses, including a great assortment of ponte fit-and-flares like this long-sleeved frock.

I thought that nubby knit WAS ponte, as the only ponte I own is a dress from Boden – a black fit and flare dress from last year which I love. One word of warning though – it is very heavy. This is not a material I would choose to pack for travelling.

I just bought the Eliza J dress. It looks almost cap sleeved in this pic but is sleeveless IRL.
