*In this late-night feature – which will run on Tuesday and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*
Erika requested a few picks for princess seam ponte dresses, so here we go:
eShakti Seamed Empire Waist Dress – was $69.95, now $55.96
eShakti’s knits aren’t technically ponte, but if you’re looking for a heavy knit fabric with substance and drape, they won’t disappoint. As with all dresses from this site, collar, sleeve length, and hem length are all customizable, so if you like the bodice shape you can adjust nearly everything else! Available in sizes 0 – 36W. If princess seams in the bodice only work for you, this dress is available in purple, red, or navy.
Talbots Peek-a-boo Back Ponte Sheath – was $109, now $81.75
Don’t worry, the peek-a-boo back is VERY small and subtle – no bra will show through and it’s still totally office-appropriate in all but the most conservative environments. This seamed sheath will layer beautifully, and also comes in butter yellow, cobalt, navy or black. Available in sizes 2 – 20, as well as petite, plus, and petite plus sizes. Size availability varies by color.
Land’s End 3/4-sleeve Ponte Sheath – was $79, now $55.30
with code SPECIAL 30 and pin 3030
As I mention below, LE’s sleeveless ponte sheath is a customer favorite, but since I know many of you are on a constant hunt for sleeved dresses, I wanted to highlight this one. It’s got some similarities to the eShakti dress, but is collarless, has a lower waist, and a more fitted skirt. Available in this navy as well as black in sizes 2 – 18, as well as petite and plus sizes. Size availability varies by color. This red long-sleeved ponte sheath is also dynamite, though a bit spendier.
Old Navy Ponte Sheath Dress – was $34.94, now $25
From what I can tell, this dress uses a seam/dart combo, and if stripes that line up are a must for you look elsewhere … but it’s a darned cute striped ponte dress at a great price. And it comes in regular sizes XS – XXL as well as petite and tall sizes. This similar style is navy/white stripes and available in plus sizes.
Sustainable resources for princess seam ponte dresses:
- Fair Indigo – Fudging a little here: More knit than ponte, and more sheath than princess seams … but close!
- Skunkfunk – GOTS certified and made with sustainable practices, this company does darling dresses, many in heavy knits.
- eBay – Used is always an option! Also check thrift and consignment stores.
Other not-currently-on-sale resources for princess seam ponte dresses:
- eShakti – Fit-and-flare is this company’s bread and butter, but a few princess seams pop up like this cobalt floral dress.
- Talbots – A great source for ponte dresses year-round. This sheath is superb.
- Land’s End – LE’s ponte sheath has been going strong for many years, and it’s reliably comfy and flattering.
