*In this late-night feature – which will run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*
Francine requested a few picks for shorter length plus-sized jackets – ideally fitted for curves – so here we go:
Chaps Peplum Wool Blend Jacket – was $139, now $83.40
Francine was also hoping for a peplum or two, and although it’s not visible here this jacket has a darling flared ruffle in back. Nips at the waist, too. A fully-lined wool blend, this is definitely a fall and winter blazer, but ever so cute and classic. Available in sizes 16 – 24. (Also comes in standard and petite sizes.)
Sejour Micro Houndstooth Suit Jacket – was $148, now $99.16
Slightly longer than the other picks for tonight, but still shorter than the average suit-style blazer. And features princess seams and waist shaping! Fully lined, but polyester so could be a year-round blazer. Available in size 14W – 22W.
Calvin Klein Notched Collar Welt Pocket Jacket – $99.98
It’s the cheat of the night, I know, since it’s not actually on sale. But such a classic style in a shaped, curve-hugging fit and only 22″ long. This would look amazing with a fit-and-flare dress. Available in charcoal and black in sizes 14- 24. (Also comes in petite and standard sizes.)
Jessica London Leather Shrug – was $189.99 – $209.99, now $94.99 – $104.99
I tend to push the outerwear-as-indoorwear boundaries myself, but definitely think this cropped leather jacket is more of a blazer than a coat. It doesn’t have a peplum, but definitely comes in at the waist and flares over the hips. Available in sizes 12 – 28 in black, red, slate, and dark green. Size availability varies by color. (Here’s a similar style in standard sizes.)
Other not-currently-on-sale resources for shorter length plus-sized jackets:
- Torrid – Sizing is juniors, so definitely check charts. But with sizes up to 5X and lots of cute, shorter blazer styles you should find an option or two. This ruched-sleeve blazer has a shortish curved hem.
- Macy’s – For whatever reason, Macy’s seems to stock lots of shorter blazers in plus sizes. This classic red blazer would work great with dresses, and this patterned one has a peplum!
- Kohl’s – Some are boxier than others, but most are relatively short. This simple herringbone will be fab for winter wear.

I have that Calvin Klein jacket (and the pencil skirt that is part of the same collection.) It fits me beautifully, even though I am very busty. I had to have the sleeves shortened, but that was the only alteration I needed.
BTW–is it a cheat if the item never goes on sale? That collection is part of Macy’s “Every Day Value” line, and they rarely, if ever, put those on sale. Even coupons for “$x off $y total purchase” usually exclude the Every Day Value items.
Hah! I just try my best to find only items that are on sale and include them here … so anything that’s not technically on sale feels like a cheat to me. 😉
Glad the jacket works for you, Courtney!
I have the Calvin Klein jacket in several colors (in a petite size), and I can attest to the fact that it’s flattering on an hourglass/busty pear figure. In fact, it’s one of the only jackets that both fits and looks good on me! (It would be even nicer if it came in a nicer, more breathable fabric and lining.) I wish there were more jacket options in that shorter, high hip length.
