Insomniac Sale Picks: Stylish Backpacks

*In this late-night feature – which will run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*

Cathering requested a few picks for stylish backpacks, so here we go:

2. Volcom - Model Muse Convertible Bag (Black)

Volcom Model Muse Convertible Bag – was $65, now $36.99

OK, I have no need for a backpack and I’m a little in love with this one. The straps can be configured to make it a crossbody or backpack, it’s got handy zippered side pockets, and is fabulously roomy at 11″ x 6″ x 12.5″. Lined in cotton, made from faux leather, so vegan-friendly! Also comes in red.

Incase Campus Pack

Incase Campus Pack – was $99.95, now $59.99

Super sleek but also imminently practical, this denim-finish pack has some great features. It looks small, but is actually just tall at 11.5″ x 5″ x 19″, and includes internal padding AND a faux fur lined notebook compartment for your laptop. Hah! Also available in off-white canvas finish.

EllingtonAnnie Sling Pack

Ellington Annie Sling Pack – was $59, now $19.99

This is the most compact option of the night, at 9″ x 6.5″ x 14″. A one-strap sling pack it can be worn over a single shoulder, or with the strap crossbody. Although there is quilting on the front, this backpack isn’t set up for laptop lugging! Available in tan, black, and terra cotta.

Herschel Settlement

Herschel Settlement -was $54.99, now $43.99

OK, so I’m not super jazzed about this specific color combo, but here’s the thing: This pack has a great classic style and shape, gets great reviewer marks, and comes in a fabulous selection of colors and prints that aren’t on sale … but it’s still super affordable at full price! Interior sleeve pocket can hold up to a 15″ laptop. Available in 20 color combos including orange with white pin dots, cobalt, yellow, several camo colorblock iterations, and classic solids like gray, black, and navy. 5″ x 18″ x 12.5″.

Other not-currently-on-sale resources for stylish backpacks:

  1. Etsy – This is where I’d likely start my search. So many options from leather to linen, embellished to plain.
  2. eBags – This bag-focused retailer has LOADS of backpacks. This black-on-black Dakine has a laptop compartment.
  3. Macy’s – I know, right? But a really varied selection over there. This colorblocked knapsack is super cool

I wish this was posted last summer when I searching for a backpack for a return (at age 37) to graduate school! Your finds are much more stylish than the trusty Jansport I settled for! I may need to update mine for my second year!

Baggu makes nice canvas backpacks, although I don’t know about the new generation. But my (bright poppy red) backpack is cute, perfectly sized and has lased me through 2.5 years of carrying all my school stuff.

If you’re still taking ideas for future sale picks, I’d love some suggestions for affordable fitted chambray shirts. I’ve tried a few this season, and they all look like bags on my hourglass figure. Princess-seamed would be the best, but I’ll take whatever I can get. Thanks & cheers – I love this blog!

Sally, just had to thank you for the link to the Volcom convertible bag. I got it and love it! I just started riding the bus to work and I love how much I can fit in this and still look stylish walking from the bus stop to work. Thanks again!
