Insomniac Sale Picks: Supportive Flats

*In this late-night feature – which will run on Tuesday and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*

Jacqueline requested a few picks for supportive flats, so here we go:

cobbhill flats

Cobb Hill Ella Flat – was $109.95, now $41.47 – $101.15

Support is a buzzword in the glowing reviews for this flat, which makes sense since Cobb Hill is a subsidiary of athletic shoe superpower New Balance. This style is simple enough to be versatile, but the criss-crossed straps keep it from being dull. Available in this black as well as cognac or blue in U.S. sizes 6 – 11, including some 2A and C/D widths. Size availability varies by color.

aetrex erica

Aetrex Erica – was $99.95, now $31.45 -$99

Yeah, a few sizes are near or at full price, but wanted to include this pair because they include a Lynco orthotic footbed for support, balance and alignment and memory foam cushioning. You want support? Here it is, my friend. Available in this red as well as black, gold, blue, or lime green in U.S. sizes 6 – 11. Size availability varies by color.

softspots flats

Softspots Piccola – was $79.95, now $35.99 – $44.99

Yet another renowned comfort brand, and this style gets high marks for support over on Amazon. The toe detailing is a nice touch – cute without being cutesy – and the pillowtop footbed will offer comfort even if support isn’t a priority for you. Available in this navy as well as metallic silver or tan in U.S. sizes 5 – 11, including AA, D, and EE widths. Size availability varies by color.

  2. Munro – High quality and made in the U.S. Love these sassy suede loafers.
  3. eBay – If you don’t mind floor samples or gently used, you’ll find brands like Orthaheel and Keen at great prices.

Other not-currently-on-sale resources for supportive flats:

  1. Vionic – With Orthaheel tech, these are top-rated for support. These cross-strap Mary Janes are darling.
  2. Aetrex – Most styles are approved by the American Podiatric Medical Association!

One Response to “Insomniac Sale Picks: Supportive Flats”

  1. Dust. Wind. Bun.

I think I say this every time this question comes up, but I still stand by my recommendation of these Puma ballet flats:
This specific style is discontinued/clearanced (though available on ebay and often Zappos/Amazon depending on your size/color preferences), but I think the Axel and Rhythm series have the same soles. Only ballet flats I’ll run across the (busy) street by my office in.
