Insomniac Sale Picks: Upscale Flip Flops

*In this late-night feature – which will run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*

Connie requested a few picks for nicer-than-usual flip flops, so here we go:

Sanuk Yoga Spree Thong Sandal– was $30.95, now $19.29

These aren’t exactly fancy, but the metallic upper and pared-down design make them a great choice for floaty summer dress ensembles. They get loads of praise for comfort, since the sole is made from the same material as yoga mats. Available in sizes 5 -11 (whole sizes only) in this silver, black, brown, gold, red, and white. Price and size availability vary by color.

Clarks Latin Bolero Sandal – was $82.94, now $33 – $49.99

Some embellished flip flops can veer into overkill territory, but I think this pair balances sleek and fancy quite nicely. They get high marks for comfort, and feature a cushioned footbed and 1/2″ platform. Available in sizes 5 -12 in this black, red, white, tan, silver, and pale blue. Price and size availability vary by color.

Jessica Simpson Jumba – was $59, now $50.99

This pair features a stylized bow that adds interest and style without getting too twee. These are the least cushy/supportive of the group tonight, so those with sensitive feet beware. Available in this purple, turquoise, hot pink, orange, tan, a black floral print, and white at Zappos, silver and an oatmeal floral print at Nordstrom (for $38.90).

Other not-currently-on-sale resources for upscale flip flops:

  1. Zappos, Endless, Amazon – The usual online suspects are a great place to start!
  2. Gap – Right now, they’ve got these minimalist leather flip flops in nine gorgeous colors. This beaded pair looks squishy soft, too.
  3. Clark’s – In addition to the pair featured above, this comfort-focused brand offers several other embellished and sassy styles.

I’d love to find skiiny bright jeans that actually fit women (like 12,14,etc…)

    Hey Sal,
Just wanted to let you know the last pair of Jessica Simpson sandals says “was $50, now $50.99″… is that a typo?

Nice post! I just found a pair of metallic gold Born flip flops for $40 at Marshall’s. Totally comfortable and go with everything.

Sandals have become the bane of my existence. Well…not really, but I struggle every summer to find the “right” pair” and usually settle far below the mark. This summer I’m looking for a pair that is causal but not beachy, has a soft fabric thong (the stiffer ones really eat up my feet) and good support or at the very least a comfy sole. I’ll give your selections a look see. Great timing on the post!

I just bought a pair of Orthaheel Talias from Zappos because I have high arches (and high insteps) and my feet were struggling with all the FLAT flip flops I wear. These sandals are magic and my plantar fasciitis actually feels better after just a week of almost-daily wear! They have some fancier styles & you can find last year’s styles for cheap at Hope this helps someone!

American Eagle! They have tons of cute sandals in all styles for decent prices. I’ve always been pleased with their quality. Check the website, because they’ve started to partner with brands like BC and I don’t think the stores carry those. Another favorite for me are basic brown leather flip flops by Roxy. I realize these suggestions skew on the younger end, but they’re actually very versatile for all ages and styles.
