*In this late-night feature – which will run on Tuesday and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*
Ericka requested a few picks for versatile, shorter spring coats, so here we go:
J.Crew Factory Belted Trench – was $188, now $94
A lightweight trench in a shorter cut is a great option for breezy spring days. This one is lined, so it will keep you a bit warmer than super lightweight versions, and comes in a bright navy that will look amazing against neutrals, jewel tones, and bold brights. Available in sizes 00 – 16. Here’s a similar style in classic khaki in 1X – 3X, and red, black, and khaki in petite sizes.
Tulle Timeless Jacket – was $80, now, $56.50
This jacket is one of the shortest I could find, but since it’s a warm wool blend it’s definitely meant for outdoor wear. Tulle has lots of darling, lightweight jackets including this leopard-collar cropped and this notched collar jacket in three colors, but this little guy struck my fancy with its yoke detailing and tabbed cuffs. Such cute accents. Available in teal and mustard in sizes XS – XL. Size availability varies by color. Tulle runs small, so check size charts. This jacket comes in 1x – 3X and has similar details, but is meant for rain wear.
Circus by Sam Edelman Roll-Sleeve Jacket – was $110, now $65.98
Couldn’t resist a utility jacket. And yes, this one is a little more casual than the others, but still plenty versatile: It will work for jeans and tees on the weekend, but also pair nicely with neutral-palette work ensembles, especially those with a tough or minimalist bent. Available in sizes XS – XL. This similar style is available in 1X – 4X.
Land’s End ThermaCheck 200 Peacoat – was $84, now $51.99
with code SALUTE and pin 4227
This coat is actually fleece, so totally perfect for spring weather – all the softness and warmth of your North Face, but in a considerably dressier shape. Cute, short, and double-breasted, this coat will work well in casual and work-appropriate mixes. Available in sizes XS – XL, as well as petite, tall, and plus sizes.
Other not-currently-on-sale resources for versatile, shorter spring coats:
- Boden – Definitely a mix of long and short, but loving the shorter options like this cute Peter Pan collar one.
- Piperlime – From bombers and moto jackets to more classic styles like this vegan leather jacket.
- Modcloth – Mostly retro-influenced, but lots of cute jackets and coats including this darling red swing coat.
- And, of course, THRIFT STORES! Coats are durable so they are likely to hold up well to wear and tear. Coats may be slim pickings by this point in the season, but it’s worth a look! (thethriftshopper.com can help you locate stores near you.)
