*In this late-night feature – which will run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*
Sharon requested a few picks for maxi dresses with wide straps and non-plunging necklines so here we go:
Banana Republic Tie Front Patio Dress – was $130, now $91
with code BRFRESH30 (valid through June 1)
Many sleeved maxi dresses can look overly voluminous, but this one strikes a balance. The neckline is a relatively deep V, but will hit well above the cleavage line for many. Available in sizes XXS – L. Also comes in black and white stripes.
Olive & Oak Sleeveless Scoop-Neck Striped Maxi – was $72, now $54.99
This ankle-length maxi is lined, a rarity in this style of dress and a feature which may help it skim your figure better. The waist is elastic, and the dress would look far cuter with the addition of a fun belt of your choice. Available in coral/gray stripe and mint/gray stripe in sizes XS – L.
Christin Michaels Kenna Dress – was $69, now $62.99
This dress DOES come with that skinny chain belt, but if you’re not a fan it would be easy enough to swap out or remove altogether. This is one of the few maxis I’ve seen that has neither Designated Boob Room nor a defined waist. Drawbacks for some, but bonuses for others. Belt wherever you’d like and never worry about bust shaping pulling or sagging! Available in black, magenta, turquoise, red, teal, and purple in sizes S – XL. (A dress with similar features: This Rachel Pally high-low on super sale for $54.99!)
Other not-currently-on-sale resources for wide-strap maxi dresses:
- Old Navy – There are some spaghetti straps and loads of strapless options, but quite a few wide-strap tank styles too, like this one in four solids and three prints.
- Piperlime – For some reason, this retailer stocks TONS of maxis, including more modest options like this adorable diagonal stripe one.
- Karen Kane – The surplice necklines can get pretty plunge-y, but the tank styles are nice and high and straps are always wide!
- And, of course, THRIFT STORES! It’ll be hit or miss, for sure, but maxis have been in rotation for many years and lots of them get donated. (thethriftshopper.com can help you locate stores near you.)
