*In this late-night feature – which will run on Tuesday and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*
Anna requested a few picks for wide width shoes that are made in the U.S. – or, at least, not in sweatshops in China or India – so here we go:
Double-H UltraGel ICE Buckaroo Boot – $199.99
As you might imagine, finding wide widths made in the U.S. and on sale was extremely difficult. Especially if you’re looking for anything eye-catching or contemporary. This Double-H cowboy boot is not on sale, but it’s awesome, made here in the U.S., features a gel cell in the footbed, and comes in C/D widths. Available U.S. sizes 6.5 – 11 in C/D and M widths.
Munro Alpine – was $215, now $59.99 – $199.95
Munro is definitely the winner when it comes to domestically made shoes available in widths. The company makes all of its shoes in the U.S. though some are crafted from imported materials. This funky Mary Jane is made from leather and suede, and features an insole board with riveted steel shank. Available in this red as well as black or taupe in U.S. sizes 5 – 13 in C/D widths. Also in 2A and B widths. Size availability varies by color. Munro shoes aren’t cheap, but they’re very well-made. Also check Nordstrom and other deals on Amazon.
Antia Karina Mocha – was $170, now $29.99
This isn’t a brand I’d ever heard of, but gets positive reviews and offers lovely designs in widths. Antia shoes are made in Spain, and include padded footbeds and flexible outsole. These sandals are available in U.S. sizes 7.5 – 11 in CD or E widths, as well as some 2A and M widths. Also in bone, but only in size 9.5 C/D. Find more Antia shoes here, and if you’re open to styles made in Spain also check out Stuart Weitzman on Amazon and at Nordstrom. Not all styles come in widths, but these links highlight the ones that do. Including some seriously sexy over-the-knee boots.
Other not-currently-on-sale resources for non-sweatshop wide width shoes:
- Munro – This company occasionally sources from foreign countries, but most styles are made in Arkansas. In addition to the style above, I love these sassy ankle boots.
- Ted & Muffy – Made by European artisans, and also a great resource for wide calf boots. Spendy, but lovely.
- Johansen – Some styles are a wee bit outdated, but others are classic like the Lola pump in eight gorgeous colors. Narrow widths, too, and a few pairs on Amazon.
- Coclico for NARROW widths – Wanted to throw this one in, since all their shoes are artisan-made in Spain.
