Insomniac Sale Picks: Wrap Dresses

*In this late-night feature – which will run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*

Brenda and Heather requested a few picks for wrap dresses, so here we go:

Christin Michaels Noelle Wrap Dress – was $89, now $62.99

Heather was hoping for true wrap dresses, and this one qualifies. It’s got similar features to a Diane Von Furstenberg wrap – with the deep V and shirt collar – though it’s a polyester blend rather than silk, which means it’s machine washable. Available in sizes XS – XL, and comes in black, purple, gray, and other solids in addition to this red as well as zebra, cheetah, zigzags, several florals, and purple stripes!

Boden Alice Wrap Dress – was $164, now $49

Ach, I ADORE this print. And all three of the other variations, too. This is a viscose/silk blend, fully lined, and a woven material (as opposed to jersey). Availability is patchy, but sizes 2 -8 and a few 14s and 16 are still for sale. And keep an eye on Boden for more wrap dresses throughout spring and summer.

Alfani Painterly Printed Tie Wrap – was $89, $64.99
PLUS an additional 10% off with code RELAX

Hardly a thing in the world more versatile than a black and white printed dress. Especially an abstract. This one is another classic, shirt collar style wrap dress with a slightly longer hemline than the CM version above. Available in sizes XS – XL.

Diane von Furstenberg New Jeanne Wrap Shirtdress – was $345, now $206.90

Can’t help throwing this one in since the Jeanne so seldom goes on sale. Still not cheap, but still a classic. As a woman with a fairly small bust who has never been able to successfully wear wraps, my DVF is the only one that works. I still have to do a cami or insert, but it hugs my curves, flatters my figure, and makes me feel like a million bucks. 100% silk, available in sizes 0-6 and 10.

Other not-currently-on-sale resources for wrap dresses:

  1. Zappos – I know! But honestly this shoe-centric retailer offered nearly 300 styles, including some marvelous plus-sized options.
  2. ModCloth – It seems that nothing good on this site EVER goes on sale, so I couldn’t find any picks for the post proper. But Brenda was specifically hoping for great prints, and the vast majority of ModCloth wrap dresses feature darling prints like lipstick kisses, birds in flight, and more.
  3. Nordstrom – Always a great bet for classic styles like wrap dresses, and every price point from $1,000 on down. Also includes plus and petite options. Naturally, I’m loving this striped model.

I just bought this super-cute wrap dress from ASOS in purple, and there are three other colors to pick from. It’s on sale for $37.60! Their website seems to be pretty glitchy lately–I don’t know if it’s just me, but be warned that if you click on that link it might just redirect you to the main page. It’s called “ASOS Wrap Pencil Dress with Fitted Skirt” and the product number is 123400 if you want to search for it yourself.

A very similar dress is available in their Curve collection with different colors and slightly shorter sleeves. Product number 167844.

nice! I just thrifted a b&w wrap dress… it’s a couple of inches too long for me but I can’t wait to wear it 🙂

  3. Allie

Love the one from Boden! And I have two DVF Jeannes from the ’90s that *almost* fit again, can’t wait, such a classic silhouette!

  4. Jackie

I got a wrap dress recently from Lands’ End in gray, and I love it! Here’s the link (I think), and it’s on sale for $29.99! I’ve worn it twice already since I ordered it, and I love it.
