Seeking Interviewees

Special request time, friends.

I’m working on a project that explores style and body image issues for teen girls, and I want to do some interviewing to make sure I have a variety of perspectives. I’m hoping to get input from teens all over the U.S., and will happily conduct Skype or phone interviews, or can send my questions by e-mail. Most questions will be about how teens feel about fashion/style, peer pressure issues, social media influence on dressing choices, and a bit about sexuality as it relates to dressing. You can see a few sample question here. I’m especially hoping to get some diverse perspectives in terms of ethnicity, economic background, immigrants or children of immigrant parents, gender identity, etc.

Parents are welcome to screen the questions, and any interviewees under 18 will need to have a parent sign off on participation.

If you or a teen girl in your life might be interested, please e-mail me with subject line “Teen style and body image project.” Please send any questions about this project to me via e-mail as well. Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

This is a great idea and I’m interested in what sort of results will come of it. (I wish I knew some younger people who could participate, but I don’t unfortunately.)
If you ever do an interview involving queer or college-age folk, you can count me in!

I’ll see if my daughter is interested. She really enjoyed your workshop.
