I fully expect a September heat wave, since we’ve had one nearly every year I’ve lived here in MN, but it’s been mostly cool and pleasant all summer long. This outfit was worn on one of the few hot, muggy days we had, and in case the hot mugginess doesn’t return, I wanted to make sure to sneak it in. J.Crew had a few items in this specific Liberty print – a Tresco floral – a few years ago, and although I adored the print none of the pieces worked for me. I ended up buying a few yards of the cloth on Etsy and my fabulous mom made this top for me! It probably won’t make another appearance until spring, but it makes me so happy to know it’s part of my wardrobe.

This is an INCREDIBLE top, the fabric and the style. We’re enjoying the last gasps of summer here in Vancouver too.

Lovely top, and go Mom for sewing it!! You chose one of the most luscious fabrics in a great print!

The top is amazing. I always think of Liberty prints as very pretty but a little old-fashioned and prissy. But this is retro but in a completely contemporary way. But you are right, it screams summer. Even in a different style, it would look odd the rest of the year.

That is a gorgeous top! I love the print, and it’s even nicer because your mom made it.
