Lovely Links: September 11

I’m not much of a fiber jewelry gal, but Indie Fixx posted some Wool Accessories for Fall that have me rethinking my stance.

Not bloggy, but worth reading: WSJ article on body image, dieting, and how fourth grade girls are being eaten alive by the thin cycle.

College Candy posted this super easy DIY for a funky, high-waisted, bubble-hem skirt. (Click through to the Threadbanger post for more photos.)

Joanna of A Cup of Jo is on her honeymoon, but has the most unbelievably sweet and touching lineup of guest posters writing about what makes their marriages wonderful.

Speaking of which, did you catch MY guest post over at Fashion for Nerds?

I just read the article about body image with fourth graders…. absolutely appalling. I just couldn't believe the pressures kids face, and it just makes me so glad to have parents who stressed a healthy life style and being fit and active, not skinny.
    thanks for the link Sal.

The WSJ article was a riveting read; so interesting how the reporter followed up on these kids when they were adults to see how they were dealing with body image issues today.

My biggest worry at that age was getting my overprotective mother to loosen up and let me play by myself at the neighbourhood park. If you can't be carefree at that age and watching cartoons, when can you ever be?
