Whenever I wear my hair “down,” lots of people asked if I’ve cut it. They’re always surprised to hear that I haven’t because it definitely looks quite different. Sometimes I wear it down just to mix things up, but lately I’ve been doing it because of -30 degree windchills. My messy/curly ‘do gets totally squashed by my hat, but worn like this I look relatively normal post-hat. And when it’s that cold out, a hat is absolutely required.
Do any of you adjust your hairstyles to avoid “hat head”?

Okay, one question.
what’s the temperature range you dress for?
coz it never snows where I stay. . . temp range. . . 40 to 100°f. . but when it’s cold approaching 40, I can never be dressed in a cardigan and call that enough. .
how do you do it ? . it certainly looks better than being cooped up in parka and wool coats. .
Hi Nishaa! So the outfits I show during winter are what I’m wearing underneath my coat, which is typically a down parka. We get everything from -30 windchills to 100+ degree days, but in winter it’s usually 20 degrees or below. I definitely couldn’t wear just this to walk around outside, but if I posted what I wear to walk around outside, I’d look the same every day: Parka, legs, boots. 😉 Hope that makes sense.
thank God! 🙂
I wear my hair in a pixie cut, so I don’t really have to worry about hat head! After taking off my hat, I can run my fingers through my hair and voila – hair is fine. This is just one of the many reasons I love my hair!
I’m working on integrating hats into my wardrobe but…
Prior to this post, I recently started following you, I’ve never understood why cardigans are on nearly every capsule wardrobe post I’ve read. Totally get it now, that looks amazing.
Do you know the brand name of the bag? It’s amazing!
Yes! Sorry. It’s by Sabina New York.
