Shaping With Color

Dress: eShakti
Shoes: Born – similar
Clutch: Tracy Reese
Scarf: Alexander McQueen

This dress came courtesy of eShakti, and I just love its clever color blocking. The dress is constructed of a light cotton poplin with a bit of stretch, making it comfortable and easy to wear. The curved black center panel and the flared skirt do all the work of creating an hourglass silhoutette without the need for any shapewear.

Like several other items I’ve gotten from eShakti, the bodice fits well but the length was a couple inches too long, even though I had provided my exact measurements when I placed my order. An inexpensive alteration perfected the proportions.

Better too long than too short. Long you can alter. Short – you’re screwed.

I love that dress! I have it in navy and olive green – substitute navy for black and green for red. Mine was the perfect length, though. I wonder if they changed the skirt length for our two dresses? There’s a definite difference between “knee length” and “below knee” for them.
