When I think of leggings, I think of cotton blends. There are some synthetics floating around out there – in fact, I think all of the fleece-lined leggings are nylon- or rayon-based – but I prefer cotton for myself. My friends over at Shop Adorn raved about these M.Rena leggings so I jumped at the chance to try a pair … but they’re rayon. And one size, which means they’re a bit sheer on me. AND SO. They shall henceforth be one of my warmest pairs of tights! Thick but not nearly as thick as the fleece-lined kind, and marvelously comfy with a super high rise. I don’t wear leggings as pants and my cotton leggings look a bit odd worn under skirts, but these? These are legging-tights. Teggings. Lights? Whatever. I just wish I’d discovered them during the Deep Freeze months. read more

Nope, didn’t wear this today. Still feeling under the weather, though creeping toward recovery. This was worn before Christmas to a very unusual occasion: I had a work meeting at my house! This allowed me to wear tall heels on a slippery winter’s day. Just clambering out into our street for these photos made me aware that such a footwear choice for out-of-the-house meetings would have been disastrous, but it felt fun to sneak them in for a day of working and collaborating inside. read more

In addition to several orders of birthday fries, I indulged in a pair of birthday Fryes. GET IT??!?!? These Vera boots have been glued to my feet since their arrival, and are absolutely perfect for this sloppy, snowy, nasty weather since they’ve been distressed within an inch of their … lives. Do boots have lives? Let’s say they do. Promise a better photo soon. It was just me and the tripod today. read more
