Not Your Basic Black

Whenever I read the words basic black, they makes no sense to me. There is nothing dull or basic about the colour. Its mysterious, edgy and sometimes bring more drama than the most vividly printed fabric. No guesses what the colour of this outfit of the day look is going to be đŸ™‚

With 60’s and 70’s fashion trending right now, a few pussy-bow blouses and turtleneck tops were definitely in order. As a plus sized lass there are those annoying rules of what I should not wear but I’ve always liked these styles and I don’t quite like being confined by rules – so whee, look Ma, I’m wearing a turtleneck top that has stripes – double whammy! Blue Haze

My usual online shopping haunts over the past 3 years since starting Curves Become Her have not been as varied as I like them to be but thankfully more stores are getting savvy with providing worldwide shipping and that means more variety for the wardrobe! This outfit of the day look is a neat combination of some of these brands.

This is not a look I typically wear and experimenting is just so much fun! I am still discovering my particular style aesthetic; I suppose you can call it eclectic for now. Which makes so much sense since that is the general consensus with my varied taste in things I love such as books, movies, music. Summer is tapering off in most parts of the world, although it is going to stay Summery here in Singapore until November! I have really enjoyed this year’s Summer fashion season as much as I do love Fall. So allow me to indulge further in this season’s personal picks for a while more.

As much as I adore vivid colours and prints, there is an air of elegance in the understated style of a simple white dress.
