Today, I drove eight hours. By myself. To see my fam. I’ve left Husband Mike back home to spend most of this week with my parents, but we shot all my outfits ahead of time. I figured hey, I had to try them on anyway before I packed them. Might as well get some lovely outdoor shots while I was at it. (Thank you, HM!)

This “duster” is actually a vintage dress but it looks utterly weird buttoned up, so I’ve taken to wearing it open and layered. It’s the perfect sleek compliment to this wild Desigual tee.

It took me a long time to get dressed today. I woke up with what HM refers to as, “someone else’s blues” and pretty much everything that happened today rankled me. Including feeling unable to assemble an outfit that was sufficiently comfy and chic. Funnily enough, after I’d landed on this combination I realized that I was breaking two of my own personal style guidelines: Wearing what are essentially leggings as pants, and scrunching the living daylights out of ’em at the ankles. Apparently, my funk eventually morphed into sartorial rebellion.
